We started by boat at the picturesque town of Giethoorn. There are several boatroutes. Beautiful and tranquil once you are out in the open and leaving Giethoorn because this place can be too crowded. First visit to this beautiful part of the Netherlands. Formed by a glacier from Scandinavia in the Ice Age, this National Park feels very 'un Dutch'. We stayed in the Landal Park, from where we could walk, cycle or drive in to the park. At first sight, it looks like National Park de Hoge Veluwe, but this park is certainly more diverse in landscape, flora and fauna. I can definitely recommend a visit! See more..

We stopped near the observation tower and then we took a walk in the water area. There are so many Black Tern on their floating nest on the water. It was very well managed for the birds as they all have places for nesting. The high reed was so beautiful under the sunlight. See more..
