Unbelievable how many cars and how long to even get to parking and it is speedy. $30 bucks a head and everything is pricey inside but this place is amazing. It is acres and acres of all kinds of entertainment and food. Great for the kiddos and there were a lot there. Honestly never felt crowded anywhere because it is really spread out. Petting/feeding area,pony rides, hay rack rides and the list goes on and on. It was actually so much fun the prices didn’t end up bothering me! Wessels Living History Farm is a hands-on, working farm. Activities for all ages, something for everyone. Tour the 1917 house, post and beam barn, granary, and other outbuildings of the farm. Wow, we cant say enough about Rocky Hollow! What an amazing experience for our kids (and us!)! Rick, the host, was amazing. So funny and hospitable. The area we had to park was spacious and level, overlooking the ranch and herd. He showed us where we could take a hike and look for wildlife. He even let our kids get up with him and bottle feed the calves! We bought some bison burgers and summer sausage and had those for dinner, so delicious! We slept with the windows open and heard the coyotes howling at night! The highlight was the tour! Make sure to do the tour! Rick took us out in the truck into the herd where we got to meet and hand feed the buffalo. He told us so much about the ranch, the animals, the industry, all so fascinating. And he made it so much fun for our kids. Rocky Hollow will be something we remember forever!See more..

On a 75-acre program site on the edge of Hastings, Nebraska, Prairie Loft offers shared outdoor activities for all ages to help create a more active, aware, and appreciative community. Activities include family programs, community events, field trips, festivals, private events and more. Prairie Loft's mission is to teach agriculture appreciation, outdoor education, cultural connections, and the wise use of natural resources. Located just west of Hastings, Nebraska, the beautiful barns were once part of a working farm that fed over one thousand people for 80 years at the state mental hospital. Great place to take the kids or grandkids! We were able to hold some cute chicks, pet a bunny and feed some goats The feed was 2$ a cup. There also were some sheep and a calf.Pony rides were available for 10$. There is kids ride available for 1$. It is a tractor that pulls some little cars around the farm. My grandkids loved it! I enjoyed the pick your own vegies. You can buy a small pail for picking for 10$, The produce is excellent! There were hay bales for the kids to climb on. It does cost 6$ per person to get in. Under two is free. It can get a little pricey but we had a lot of fun! Due to the COVID you do have to have reservations ahead of time and only an allotted number are admitted.See more..

I realize that some of the apeal is the "rustic" decor, but when the basic facilities are not clean upon arival that was not part of the expericence that I was paying for.See more..
