Hiking Trail Fira - Oia image
This scenic hike connecting the postcard-perfect Greek villages, Fira and Oia, is one of the best ways to take in the beauty of Santorini. The island trail brings you along the caldera and Aegean sea, and through other quieter but picturesque towns of Firostefani and Imerovigli. The hike is about six miles and will take you between two to five hours depending on your speed. The trail is not marked and consists of cobbled, paved and dirt paths with slight elevation. Wear sturdy shoes, and start your expedition early so you can end at Oia in time for lunch. – Tripadvisor See more..
  2. 5.0 Monastery of Panagia Hozoviotissa (1.254 reviews)
    - Hard climb, but worth it.
Points of Interest & Landmarks • Religious Sites
    Monastery of Panagia Hozoviotissa image
The Monastery of Panagia Hozoviotissa sits on the side of a cliff overlooking the Aegean Sea, with breathtaking views to the east. The steps to the Monastery number over 300, most with incline and ruff stones. Not an easy climb, but certainly well worth it. Once you reach the Monastery, there are still more steps, as it is build with 5+ stories, and only 5 meters wide. But you will be greeted with water and the local raki drink from the aides of the Monks. There is also one of the oldest Icons in Greece in the church within the Monastery. So incredibly beautiful, and a must see on the island of Amorgos. See more..
  3. 5.0 Kleftiko Beach (1.240 reviews)
    - Magnificent jewel of Milos island
    Beaches
    Kleftiko Beach image
We tried the hidden path to get there not using a boat. It was challenging indeed to make the car get at the end of the dirt road and very challenging. And then you need to walk around 50' of path not very steep easy one. It's much better having the beach on your own and be a bit more private if you are lucky in the other side of the beach. A must go for the one time visitor. See more..

    Sunset in Oia image
My wife and I rented a scooter and got to Oia around 4PM. It was a sunny day with a lot of wind, which I heard is something quite normal in Santorini. We got to the Old Castle around 5:30PM and it got crowded very quick. Close to the sunset time, a guy started playing saxofone and it was very nice. The view is mesmerizing, something that will never forget. See more..

I could not believe how many tourists can squeeze into these small alleys. It was a great way to see the little shops in the side streets. Best of all there was a Pelican in one of the restaurants just cleaning himself. We all just walked around him. Great to see nature mix with people and we all can work together. The shop owners are very friendly and do t hesitate to haggle for a hat or scarf. See more..

    Agios Pavlos Beach image
The location is beautiful. If you get there early enough (10/10.30am) you’ll get a subbed right on the waters edge. It’s lovely to lie in the sun with your feet in the water. The cafe didn’t open until close to 11am, the service was a little slow initially but got slightly better during the day as more people got to work. The meal sizes are TINY and there is no value for money. The sun beds were expensive! 50euro for two. See more..

    - Temple door
Sunday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Ancient Ruins
The Temple of Apollo – Portara image
It is a temple door, which is still from the planned temple that was to be built there, but the construction was incomplete and a lot of building material was simply taken away by the islanders, but because the door was too big and heavy, it remained. There is no entrance to Portara and at least a week ago there was a small population. It is worth visiting both during the day and in the evening at sunset See more..

  25. 4.5 Parikia Town (1.945 reviews)
    - the traditional part of Paros town
    Historic Sites • Islands
    Parikia Town image
Afraid that Paros had become too touristy I had avoided this island in recent times, but returned recently to find out that especially the old part of Parikia is still a very pleasant place to be (we also stayed there) and great to walk through at any time of the day. There are the usual tourist shops, of good quality quite often, also some cafés and restaurants, but they have not taken over everything as for example in Naoussa. There are plenty of areas, where one feels that they belong to the locals. Apart from the lovely alleys, covered with flagstones, and the traditional Cycladic architecture of the houses, one will also find old churches, fountains from the 1770's, donated by a Parian, who had risen to high posts in the Ottoman Empire, and also parts of the Venetian castle (locally known as Frankish Castle), where remains of the Athena Temple, that once stood here, had been used. 28. 4.5 Agios Prokopios Beach (1.814 reviews)
    - Amazing beach
    Beaches
    Agios Prokopios Beach image
Ok, this beach was flawless! We went at about 11:00 in early July. First, we park and there is a beautiful pink salt lake that started at the edge of the parking area. I saw a review mention that it sometimes smells bad, but it did not smell at all. We grabbed a bite to eat at a restaurant right on the beach and reserved some of their beach chairs. The water was crystal clear turquoise, and the sand was great. Not windy. It was just amazing. It was our favorite beach ever. Though there was a heat wave, the beach did not start getting busy until about 1:00 or so. Highly recommend! So beautiful! The colors in my photos have not been enhanced. See more..
  29. 4.5 Tigaki Beach (1.730 reviews)
    - Lovely, clean and friendly staff
Spent More than 3 hours Beaches
    Tigaki Beach image
Sunbeds were 5 euros each and provided shade. In the price you also have room infront of your spot to allow you to pull the beds in and out of the shade. The man taking the money was lovely. He showed us to the sunbed, had a laugh and they also brought you drinks/snacks to the sunbeds when you wanted. The waters are shallow which was great but it is the windier side of the island so the water isn't as calm but still lovely. See more..
