It's the fourth time I am visiting the island and every time I will stop for a cocktail or a drink there. Every time I visited there was a new surprise in the decoration and the cocktail ideas. This time we stopped by a few times and could enjoy great cocktails, listened to great music and enjoyed the scenery next to the sea under the moonlight! My advice is as always: Don't miss it. Absolutely stunning beach. We always sat towards the far end (Troulos Bay hotel end) where it was quieter and more rocky. Water was crystal clear, loads of fish visible without snorkel- but kids snorkelled and saw the most amazing things. Didn’t feel need to pay for sun beds as swam more than sunbathed - a first for me!! Ate virtually each time in the gyros bar at end of road, cheap, delicious and a spotless toilet between it & the small ‘supermarket’ Once ate at taverna at sandier end of the beach , v slow and grumpy service and not great food but surprisingly not that expensive either. Clear water that starts shallow then gets nice and deep maybe 7/8 feet, not a steep drop off though. Make sure your kids have floatees if young. Crystal clear, small and medium fish . I saw a beautiful blue rimmed flying fish. I am writing in late May 2022. NO seaweed or trash. Small pebbles instead of sand but manageable for sure. Could not be closer to the bus stop! Also an ATM right across the street, as well as espresso, breakfast, and dinner seafood restaurants. Highly recommend if uou are on this side of the island. This stunning beach on the northeastern end of Skiathos is lined with small unique white pebbles instead of sand. Here, you can enjoy the clear blue waters of the Aegean sea and visit the picturesque stone arch Tripia Petra that marks one end of the beach. The beach is wide no shade at all but sunbeds with umbrellas (7€ ) available, the biggest part of huge beach is free to place down your towel. There is a beach bar. We came by bus and then walked through the Mandraki forest - a lovely walk, i recommend to wear closed shoes because the forest soil and sand can make your feet black. Not the beach sand of course! The beach is really top! In May there were really very few people, and we were totally alone by the sunset time! It was amazing and very romantic. Nice sunshades. You can't watch the sunset from Skiathos main town because that side of the island isn't facing the right directon for sunset, but this beach does! As soon as the sun had set, we quickly went back to the bus stop and were in time there, before it got too dark. See more..

Small but stunning, a lovely miniature beach that is so tucked away you could almost miss it. When we visited there were sun-beds and shades for €7 a pair tho the beach was not supervised. Sandy but shelves quite steeply when you swim, best wear waterproof shoes as there are rocks aplenty. Water was warm (July) and it seemed safe enough despite the waves, but best be careful and not suited for children. See more..

This beach has the best waters you can get on the island. Amazing light blue waters, so clean you can actually see all fish from the shore, without wearing a mask. The white colour of pebbles gives the waters a light colour which is unique. Because of the nice waters though, the place gets really packed so you constantly hear children screaming and families running up and down the beach, which is the only reason I did not give an excellent rating to this beach. Other than that, the place is amazing, has a restaurant with fresh fish and plenty of space to park your cars. See more..

This is such a beautiful peaceful place to visit for an hour or so. Take the bus up from Skiathos terminal (stop 0) which costs €2 and takes about 15 minutes. Dress modestly (or borrow the black shroud as you go in to cover your shoulders). The ancient monastery is beautiful - free to enter - and you can light a candle for a family member/friend for 5€. Lovely reasonably priced cafe just above with lovely views. You can walk back into town if you wish - takes about 50 minutes/an hour (mostly downhill) See more..

When my partner and I visited in early October the beach was unorganised and beautifully wild. It is an organised beach with umbrellas and little beach hut selling refreshments during the season. We prefer it empty, wild and unorganised. It is glorious and easy to reach. We walked from Votsi village for about an hour through beautiful roads and forests. The water is gorgeous and clear. It is not a windy beach as it has got a little island right in front of it. Highly recommended. See more..

This is not the beach for everyone. It is wild beach, without any tavern, sun beds, water sport. And even the access is not easy, forgot about any trail leading here. No far from parking lot and two taverns , but after about 200 meters you have to cross the slippery stones with rough sea, recommend to have water shoes to cross this section. If manage this you will be rewarded by unspoiled and splendid sandy beach. The aqua marine water is crystal clear and deep enough for good swimming. Recommended beach for relaxing time. Lovely beach that can you reach by car and by foot down the hill. There is not much people on the beach, 2 beds and sun umbrella cost 10 eur. In big waves there is harder to get in the water, but is a lot of fun. We recommend the taverna, we ate pita bread, feta cheese and omlete-all very good. We booked our trip with captain Pakis. He was a great guide, told us lots of stories and myths about the island. The scenery was beautiful. We made 2 stops to swim, visited the monastery and the shipwreck. Food and water was provided. Unfortunately we didn't see any sea animals. On deck we were around 25 people. (The day before we had booked a trip with the competing company and ended up not going through with it because there were about 65 people on board!) My boyfriend and I ran this beach bar over 20 years ago and after a friend recently visited I was curious to see how it had changed It still looks quaint but was much more basic then and beautiful The owner ' Bobby ' may have sold because it's more commercial now We had about 14 tables and no electricity. We had an old ice cream freezer that we packed with drinks and retsina and the boss brought frozen bottles of water to put in to keep cool. We served only feta omelettes and Greek salad and home made chips. I used to sit in the early morning sun and peel the spuds!!! The grass was kept watered overnight by a series of pipes then hitched to a gourd to form a showere in day. People would come by boat and 4 x 4 or motorbike We lived in a goats cottage he owned( goats grazed overnight on grass)no running water or electricity but it was the best summer of our lives. We liked this beach for its natural untouched part (the right side of the beach) and its amazing clear waters. One can enjoy a nice swim on this part of the beach and lay down on the sand in peace and quiet. For those wishing to rent sunbeds and umbrellas, the central part of the beach provides this service, as well as a beach restaurant. The view is beautiful with the beach facing a small island. There is also a part of the beach which is covered in trees offering a nice shadow (between the restaurant and the sunbeds). See more..

My partner recommended this beach after reading rave reviews, and he wasn’t wrong! Perfect little slice of heaven here on Skiathos. We are a youngish couple that like quiet and peaceful days on the beach and that’s exactly what we got here. Although a little hairy getting to/from the beach (only really accessible with a jimmy jeep due to the dirt tracks leading to the beach), it was worth the journey. Only about 10 couples maximum on the beach, €8 for 2 sunbeds and the canopy and just the most beautiful surroundings. We ate lunch at the taverna which cale highly recommend. This is more wild beach than adjoining Stafylos from which is the only possible way to get in. So the transport options for Velanio is precisely the same as Stafylos. As the beach is less organized then Stafylos is even more relax and less visited, also this is more nudist beach. In mid June the beach bar was closed, so bring your drinks and snack. It is more pebble beach, with good access into the water which is crystal clear. No shade there, but on my visit some unattended beds were available.
