Little Venice has style

I could not believe how many tourists can squeeze into these small alleys. It was a great way to see the little shops in the side streets. Best of all there was a Pelican in one of the restaurants just cleaning himself. We all just walked around him. Great to see nature mix with people and we all can work together. The shop owners are very friendly and do t hesitate to haggle for a hat or scarf.

    Nice place worth going to get a drink "over the sea" ...
    It is not that spectacular but it is a place worth having a few drinks and take some pictures. It seems to me that while the title of Little Venice is a bit of a misnomer because it has no canals or bridges like in Venice, it is a scenic corner of town. However, it is a charming corner in Mykonos with a lot of magic. Just below the windmills, wealthy local shipping merchants built a row of picturesque houses with brightly painted wooden balconies on the sea along the bay. The embankment is lined with restaurants, cafes, and cocktail bars, crowded every night with tourists enjoying the sunset. It is picturesque to see the sea waves burst on the shore of the restaurants windows. You can take great pictures from here but if you are on a table that is too close to the edge strong waves could splash water on you. Having a drink or dinner right on the sea, watching the rocks in the background and watching the waves of the sea hit the restaurant window. Enjoy getting lost in Mykonos, through its streets, and reach that little corner, Little Venice, with pricey restaurants (prices are exorbitant) and windmills in the background.

    Best people watching place anywhere!
    Lovely area to stroll, dine, have a cocktail, or just people watch. In the evening there is an endless parade of those who are looking to see - or be seen. Anything goes from those that look like thy are on a photoshoot, to those who look like they just came off a hike or the beach. It can be a challenge to eat your dinner at your reserved sunset table when people are practically sitting in your lap as they lean in to get that perfect selfie with the sunset in the background. It can be a bit much at times. But the experience is definitely worth it.
