   Horrible place. There was tourist trap written all over it. 80RMB just to get in to wait an hour to start the tour. At least 30-40 people in the tour. The women gave a boring speech about the cave's history and the different structures of the cave. Upon entering, your are overwhelmed by the number of Chinese tourists fighting to take a picture of the "natural" formations. We eventually walked well ahead of the pack and made our own fun little tour (recommended). The entire place was lit up in glory which is common to see in China. The next complaint I'm writing to is for Green Peace because they had a large sea turtle trapped in a little box for public viewing. So cruel. Then there was a gift shop and fake hot springs and mud baths (see above complaints). Looking at the pictures, I'm starting to wonder if the entire place was just cement and lights.    I visited this place on my bike ride to the moon hill. Basically it's a very old and a very big tree, apparently 1500 year old. I would say it's quite impressive, but it would be better if it's not fenced off and having 100s of tourists walking around taking photos. The entry fee is 20 Yuan, which is not bad but if it's a worthwhile investment to see an old tree, I'll leave it to you. Walk in walk out 5 min max, here are some photos, if you decide to bypass it.     Out for a trek whilst staying in the Yangshuo area at the Zen Garden Resort in the next village down the road. Enjoyed the reprieve from the heat of the day. Nice crystal caverns with stalagmites, a mud bath and a hot spring ... which we surely would have partaken had we been equipped with bathing costumes.     Museum tickets (up to 5000 pieces) are given out free daily with a valid ID or passport shown. Security check at the entrance scanning through visitors & belongings. Visitors are required to drink a sip of their beverage before allowed to enter. Ticket & passport checking was done at least twice. The museum has 4 floors, with a different theme at each. Exhibits at the child zone were also interesting, guess we were still child-like afterall. They were sections about biology, physics, mathematics & technology. Some exhibits needed some repair & maintenance though. The 4D cinema can be one of its major attraction if maintenance was done.     It's not cheap but there is a quite a bit to read and see. The beginning gives the history of the world then a certain amount of sea plants and some ocean species swimming around.     Lots of mid-sized shops in this area. Mostly selling clothes etc. but they also have a huge Xinhua bookstore on there. It's probably 5 stories tall and has something for western customers too.     It is a small village in between BAIMO Cave and BAINIAO GROTTO scenic area. If you are rushing for time, you may consider joining a tour group travel from Nanning for 1night 2 days trip.The tour will consist of visiting Baimo Cave, Changshou village, and Bainiao Grotto, with stay overnight at Bama. Changshou village is nothing much to see except you can visit some old age people. I joined the tour from Nanning and they brought us to visit 2 homes and take photo with the 2 old people (103 and 106 years old).     Been there last week, it was amazing to see all this ancient buildings. There is hardly any commercial activities in the town, so that's what makes this place worth to travel. People there are very kind if you talk to them, they even invited me to watch TV with them on the street. And you can notice there are so many chickens and cows on the street, they are as free as human being there.     To get to the vietnam-china boundary marker, one needs to walk through the no.3 platform, the highest waterfall viewing platform. From the waterfall, it takes around 20 mins to the marker. One can opt for a pony ride at 30 yuan per ride. Random stalls are set up along the trail. There is a flea market selling Vietnamese products at the boundary marker.     It is a bonus visit in our trip to Hezhou, Guangxi. This village is nicely and naturally decorated, it should have history of more than 200 years. The village is in the form of rectangular shape, with wall of 3 metres height as fence and partition. There are not too many dwellers in the village. But in time of celebration, most villagers should be crowded in the area at the front of the village. It is now a place to air preserved sausage and pork.     Getting to the leaning tower is a bit difficult. It is not far outside of the city, but it is not a major tourist destination either. Signs direct you how to get there once you are on the correct highway. It cost only 15 RMB per person. Large signs in the parking lot and near the viewing platform explain the dimensions and history of the tower. The grounds leading to the tower are very well maintained with flowers, trees, and bamboo. The paved route takes you straight to the tower viewing platform. The plank routes are more circuitous passing by many vistas of the river. You can not access the tower. The gate is locked and there is no bridge as others have mentioned. We spent about 1 hour here taking photos. You can also get a good view of the tower from the opposite side of the river without paying a fee. See more..

    During the day, it's fun to go to the park and hike up the mountain. The towers are very pretty up close, and you can go up in them. The towers look like they are on two separate hills, but actually they are connected. It's very easy to hike up first to one tower and then to the other. There is also a temple at the top of the mountain. It only takes about an hour and a half to do the whole thing. At night, it's fun to go to the square in the park and look at the downtown lights. The Sun and Moon towers are really beautifully lit up at night, but if you want to get a good view of those, it's best to go across the river and get a picture from the Wan Cheng bridge.     Jiangshan peninsula is about 15 km south west from Fangchenggang city, It is also called Bailong peninsula ( white dragon ). It is the same place, which is confusing. You can get there on a small bus which runs every hour from Fangchenggang city. there is a lot of road-building going on . There is a resort area, which has two large hotels, one apparently abandonned, and some small hotels, and a street with about a dozen restaurants and various kiosks and souvenir stores. There are a lot of bathing suits for sale, but it was very hard to buy a beach towell. There is a very wide flat beach, where the tide only rises and falls once a day. When I visited, in may 2016, the water was rather muddy, but tolerable by chinese standards. not as good as beihai or sanya. At the tip of the peninsula, about 9 km away, are two grotty villages. One has a beach with some supposedly interesting rocks. I was unimpressed. The other village has a hill with a old fort built during the period when the french were trying to expand their control of the coast next to vietnam. From this fort, you can see the nearest bit of vietnam on a clear day. There is another beach, which on the satellite photos looks quite nice, but I could not find out how to get there without a motorscooter. The hotel I stayed at was OK, certainly could not complain about the price. We had fish at the restaurant, which was very good but no different to what you can get elsewhere. Overall, this jiangshan peninsula was a bit of a let down. Inexplicabkly, they have built their :"resort" complex in the muddiest part of the bay, least suitable for any sort of beach activity.     Liuzhou is well known for its Fantastic Stone Festival, held irregulary, but usually every second year. Collectors come from all over China and beyond to see unusual-shaped stones which are often used with bonsai to create wonderful artificial landscapes. The range is amazing. But there is no neeed to attend the festival as this museum of stones is open year round. There is a very popular Chinese banquet set out in one hall here, in which all the food is stone. Road trip 40 minutes' drive from Wuxuan County Ticket 40 rmb / adult. 20 rmb for children. no charge for children under 1.2m Scenery it is a typical Danxia Landform park teemed with assorted plants and wildlife. A trail leads the way through the narrow valley, stream tinkling from below, birds singing above. After 20 minutes' walk, there came a fork in the road. One way led to West King Waterfall(西王瀑), and the other, the Great Waterfall (locals compared its beauty to heavenly maids scattering blossoms from sky) which rested in the highest place the path could get. Two waterfalls were linked by another trail. They shine in their own way. WK Waterfall boasted clear and deep water which is proper for swimmers. G Waterfall excelled in grotesqueness, water falling from two closely drawn cliffs, caving into the ground. Infrastructure some of it was old and decrepit. The reception center near the fork road was nothing more than a simple store. The paths that led to the two waterfalls were barely paved. And there was no road to the highest summit, which, i think, was a real pity. Restaurant one outside the park gate, one in the reception center in the canyon. Both charged expensively. Opinion The canyon itself is beautiful but nothing special in terms of Danxia Landform. It is a good place for short trip if you are nearby and want to kill some time.
