Guilin Jiefang Bridge, Guangxi, China

more interesting than it looks

Worth a stop on a walk around guilin. Early morning swimmers plough up and down apparently ignoring the tourist boats hammering up and down. People fishing on the banks and off the bridge itself occasionally, on a hot night there is always a cool breeze.

    A bridge
It is a large bridge, but is just a bridge after all! It looks lovely all lit up at night and you can get a nice photo of the river and mountains in the background during the day.

    It's a bridge!
Not much to see here, but worth a stroll across on foot to see the gardens either side and to mingle with the locals. Swimmers flock to the small beaches on either side of the bridge in early evening. The bridge is lit with indigo blue lighting at night, which is rather stunning. Just to the North West of the bridge is a new Pagoda called Zhuangyuan Lang, which is beautifully lit at night and gives great views of the bridge. It's free to visit during the day.
