Biked with a guide from Shaungtan northeast of Yangshuo to Fuli Market. Very interesting noodle lunch and cakes. Glad to have the guide as little English was spoken. Actually, took a ferry across the river and parked the bikes with a local house. Pleasant day and less touristy stuff. More of a local's market feel.See more..

Been there last week, it was amazing to see all this ancient buildings. There is hardly any commercial activities in the town, so that's what makes this place worth to travel. People there are very kind if you talk to them, they even invited me to watch TV with them on the street. And you can notice there are so many chickens and cows on the street, they are as free as human being there. There are not many visitors in the town, but Yangmei ancient town is full of history and spirit. Highly recommend to visit.See more..

My father served in China during WW2, so I grew up hearing about this place. It was incredible to see it in person, and the Chinese have done a beautiful job with the museum and the cave. My father took shelter in those caves when the Japanese were bombing, it gave me chills to be able to stand there myself.See more..
