4.0Baotu Spring Park(888 reviews) - An easy recommendation Sunday: 7:00 AM - 9:00 PM Parks
An easy walk from Spring City Square and Daming Lake, this tranquil park offers rare glimpses of large spring sources. The water is noticeably clear with plenty of koi fish for amusement. My Chinese wife purchased the tickets with her phone for only ¥20. This was by far the best of similar destinations, including our recent trip to Suzhou. During the Summer, you can opt to take a water taxi from the park "harbor" for a 10 - ¥60 upcharge.See more..
4.0Daming Lake(632 reviews) - Huge! Sunday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Bodies of Water • Historic Walking Areas • Parks
This has to be the must-visit place when in Jinan. We only spent a couple of hours walking around the lake and just covered about half of this whole place. Absolutely beautiful all around! Seemed like this lake area took up half of the old city surrounded by the moat.See more..

4.0Small Qingdao Island(116 reviews) - The Most Beautiful Area In Qingdao Islands • Parks
Small Qingdao Island and the 1 mile walk over to the public beaches is the "E" ticket of Qingdao. The views are equal to Laguna Beach in Southern California. Frankly, for about an hour, I forgot that I was in China. The area is clean, manicured and with natural beauty that rivals anything in China.See more..
4.5Qingdao XiaoYushan Park(98 reviews) - Nice and Quiet Sunday: 7:26 AM - 6:28 PM Mountains • Parks
It seemed like we were the only ones there on the day we visited. This is an excellent spot to see Qingdao from higher up. We did climb up to the top of the pagoda and it was a wonderful view of the older section of the city. With fewer visitors one can really enjoy the serenity and sight.See more..
4.5Signal Hill Park(91 reviews) - Great Views of the German Concession! Sunday: Parks
Cost to enter is 15 yuan and is worth a stop if you are in the area for the fantastic views. There are many attractions nearby like the German residence, Cathedral and the German Concession area. The hike to the top is easy but slippery in some parts so bring good shoes. The floor rotates at the top of the tower and can be a little disorientating. Make sure you keep your tickets handy when going into the tower or else you'll have to pay extra. Plan to spend an hour here.See more..
This is well worth a visit. This national park has a large forested area with trees dating from the 1950s. You can rent bikes and toodle around the many paths and roads in the park. The best stretch of beach is about 400-500 metres north from the amusement area. You'll be almost alone, a rarity in China. There were a small number of people camping on the beach in small tents. It looked like tents were available to rent too. The waves were really impressive. I'm not a surfer, but they looked very surfable to me. Might not be the safest swimming beach. Possibly a strong undertow, but not 100% sure.See more..
4.0Qingdao International Beer City(81 reviews) - Great city, clean, interesting, home of Tsingdao beer Amusement & Theme Parks
I taught at Qingdao University for one semester. This is a fabulous city. It is in the north, so the favorite food is not rice, but noodles and dumplings. This is the city where Tsingdao beer is made. It is refreshing and delicious! The public transportation system is excellent, there aren't as many bicycles as there are in other cities because this is a hilly city. There is lots to do, fabulous restaurants, great markets, wonderful people. Put this on your bucket list of places to go in China.See more..

4.5Quan City Park(30 reviews) - Huge public park Sunday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Parks
This park was very huge, consisting of many gardens. I entered by the east entrance, which was quiet and peaceful. As I walked towards the north gate, which was the main entrance, it was very crowded with many families gathering at the kid’s playground, boat rides in the pond, food and game stalls. It was a Saturday afternoon, hence many locals were having picnics especially in this section of the park. There was even an area where rows of placards were displayed - singles advertising for match making. Major parts of the gardens were rather barren, due to the cold weather in late March. I suppose visiting here in later months will be ideal to enjoy the gardens. Nevertheless, there were few peach blossom trees blooming with beautiful pink flowers. Entrance is free. One can easily spend 2 hours leisurely enjoying the park.See more..

This park is a must see in Spring, but only for the 2 weeks that the famed peony flowers bloom. 4.0Yuanshan National Forest Park(19 reviews) - A huge park and a great day trip Sunday: 6:30 AM - 6:30 PM National Parks
This park is located in Zibo, but not in the same district as the train station. You'll need to take a bus or taxi to the Boshan district. I highly recommend going to Boshan as it's plentiful in it's supply of mountains and scenery (especially in comparison to the other districts). If you like walking then the Yuanshan National Forest Park is for you. It does cost money, but you'll end up spending a lot of time there. You can see some old restored Great Wall bits along with some other interesting things. In the summer it can be quite hot so don't forget to drink lots of water and perhaps wear some sun screen!See more..
Huaxiacheng Tourism Scenic Area is a very nice place in which you can spend half day at least. There are many good places to see. Some of them are pretty far away from each other. Therefore taking a shuttle bus is recommended if you are not that much into walking. My recommendation is to make sure you can be there on time to watch the show that takes place in the lake where a big statue of a three faced Buddha comes out of water to the rhythm of the music. The show begins at three in the afternoon. Not sure about the morning time though. Unfortunately when I arrived there it was 4 PM and almost over. A local visitor told me the show begins at three. So please bear in mind this. There is also a night show. In order to attend the event there is an evening ticket to purchase, which is a bit expensive. Although I haven't seen it I do believe it is a very good one as in the past I got plenty of opportunities to watch live shows here in China and they were all impressive and truly enjoyable.See more..
4.0Yuhuangding Park(17 reviews) - Nice architecture, gardens, scenery & taste of culture Sunday: 5:00 AM - 10:00 PM Parks

4.5Zibo Lushan National Forest Park(14 reviews) - The most natural and untouched national park I have been to in China. Sunday: 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM National Parks
Three friends and I spent a couple of days in the forest park and the surrounding area. We enjoyed seeing a huge variety of different flora and fauna. It is a decent distance from any major urban centers and as a result is largely untouched and a little wild. A car would be needed to make the most of your time though. Lots of excellent 'nongjiale' in the area to stay at too. A lovely get rural get away for the more adventurous traveler.See more..
See more..
It is a huge complex with very many beautiful displays of art and carvings and temples. Also the gardens are wonderful. We took the option of a golf cart given temperatures in the high-30's and we not feeling well. There are very few English signs and none of the staff or guides spoke any English meaning that we did not really understand the significance of a lot of what we were seeing. However it was still very impressive and enjoyable. Overall Penglai has so much to offer it is a pity that international visitors are not better catered for - a huge future opportunity for the area especially when the new Yantai/Penglai airport opens in 2014.See more..

4.0Huancuilou Park(8 reviews) - Not a large park but lots of quiet spots for relaxation Parks
This is a nice spot very close to the city centre. Dominated by Huancui tower, (not as old as it looks -Completed in 2012!), if you take the paths to the left and the right of the steps to the tower there are lots of peaceful spots to get away from the city for a few minutes. Highly recommended if you have had your fill of the delights of Wego Plaza...See more..
4.5Weihai Water Park(8 reviews) - Отживший себя аквапарк Sunday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Water Parks
See more..
4.0Qing Feng Lake(7 reviews) - Decent little park. Sunday: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM Bodies of Water • Parks
A well kept park of all the areas of dongying. Nice for a stroll round & you can hire some 2 seater pedal cars to whizz around on as well. There's also a speedboat that you can pay ¥80-100 to get taken out on. Visit...purely because there ain't much else in Dongying!See more..
The People's Park of Jining is truly a people's park. It is beautiful, and very well used by the people of Jining. Landscaping is mature, offering shade and beautiful flowers. There is a large lake/pond with paddle boats, a little pond for fishing (not serious fishing), a playground for kids, an adult work out area/par course, a merry go round, gates, pavilions, walking paths, plenty of benches and an ice cream vendor. It is peaceful, people are nice. This is my favorite spot in Jining!See more..

4.0Weihe Park(4 reviews) - Nice lake-side development Sunday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Bodies of Water • National Parks
It looks like the city of Zhucheng has put in a lot of resources to develop public areas to improve the city's appearance, including paved paths, wharfs, sculptures, trees, shrubs and plants. This park is one of those developments. Here you can find expansive areas where people fly kites or just sit and chat. I saw a portable amusement park set-up with kids' rides available and the obligatory blaring techno music to go along with it. You can hire a pedal or motor boat to navigate the lake in. There are a couple of large sculptures there. At night we drove past and there were a lot of stalls along the roadside as well, probably selling food and token items.See more..
