The square didn't seem anything special during the day but it's a totally different story at night. I found this the best light show that I have seen anywhere. It was just incredible with all the buildings in the area lit up with ever changing colors. There were a lot of people but it was manageable. I think some people seem to misunderstand what this area is, so let me be clear: it is a few residential streets. That's it. The Chinese name for the area ('scenic resort') is perhaps misleading to tourists from overseas. The shady streets, quiet atmosphere and the German architecture is what makes this area lovely to wander around and take a few photos. There are a couple of cafe/restaurants though, including the lovely Garden Cafe (pictured), and a fun succulent museum if you're a plant-lover. See more..

水滸伝のテーマパークとでも言いましょうか！ひと山全体に、水滸伝のエピソードが散りばられていて、とにかく楽しかったです。

ただアクセスが悪く、滞在していた曲阜からは、路線バスも出ているそうですが、中国語が覚束ない私達は、ホテルでタクシーをお願いし、一日チャーターする形で訪問しました。

タクシーの運転手さんが梁山のご出身だったのもラッキーで、ランチには水滸伝ゆかりのお料理が出るレストランを紹介してもらい、面白く、またとても美味しく、本当に大満足！

I hired a driver for the day to see the sights a bit out of town. Shouqiu is about a 15-20min slow drive through fields and farming areas, roughly east of the walled city of Qufu. 这是生活着的老街老巷。古朴大气的牌坊只用青石修葺，只是正中在黑底上用白线条勾勒出“偶園商業街”五个楷体字来，并不像北京那五色牌坊似的招摇，以至于前一日黄昏，我们从它跟前走过，竟未发现这等趣处。
街的正中摆着各式摊位，卖煎饼的，卖冰糕的，卖水果的，卖凉皮的；两边沿街的店面也把自家卖的文具、瓷碗什么的摆在门前，向路人表明经营范围。又不时有进出的车辆缓缓避让着经过，昔日宽阔的街道，也逐渐局促起来。
