4.0Daimiao Temple(89 reviews) - One of the best temples I visited in China Ancient Ruins
I'll keep it short. I have definitely not visited all temples in China, but certainly more than a handful. Of all these, Daimiao is the dearest to me. It is quite big, not so crowded (except for holidays and weekends), it has terrific halls and architecture (check out the mural in the main hall), a lovely garden but most of all, it has a wonderful atmosphere and feel to it. Let the busy city life drop away and just sit here for a while. You'll love it.See more..
4.0Kong Forest(88 reviews) - Place to pay respect to Confucius Sunday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Ancient Ruins
This is a very huge cemetery complex. In fact, it is the largest family cemetery in the world according to a website. Many officials and commoners were buried here, but of course the Confucius cemetery on the eastern side is the most popular, which attracts tourists and locals alike. The rest of the complex is not worth exploring. Confucius cemetery consists of 3 important cemeteries, ie Confucius himself, one son and one grandson, all located near to one another. From the entrance, one needs to walk a long walkway lined with many mature trees, which are about 600 to 1000 years old. Many such trees are scattered throughout the entire complex. We spent about 1 hour to leisurely walk around and explore the eastern side.See more..
4.5Minggu City(Sankong)(42 reviews) - A Day Trip Sunday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Ancient Ruins
Though Confucius has influenced Chinese society for centuries, the visit to his tomb and the benefits he brought to his decendents were quite an irony. Better to read about him before the visit, and the guide could tell you more about it. It would be nicer if there were not many people, so the visit could be mixed with some space for personal thought.See more..

4.5Taishan Palace(25 reviews) - Crowded Place for a serene spot Sunday: 6:28 AM - 6:28 PM Ancient Ruins • Architectural Buildings I spent National Day in Taishan or what they call Mount Tai. I was with a tour group and only spent the day there. First line is getting your coach bus that will take you to the base camp where you choose to go on foot up or take the cable car. That's 30 RMB one way. Upon reaching the base camp, the log climb begins or you may want to use the cable car ... be ready to be pushed for an hour by the crowd until you get to buy your ticket for 100 RMB one way, and another 30 minutes or so of more pushing until you see your cable car. The scene was very good. The ride was smooth and not scary at all. Whew, this mountain is very steep. I was thankful I chose the cable car. The view on top was fascinating. The weather changes drastically from misty, foggy, sunny, windy and cloudy. I can only see heads and more heads every where. I had my picture taken and printed there for a lofty cost. My only decent souvenir. There are food and souvenir shops in a village like part of the mountain. The temple was further uphill but it was very crowded and I can't stay long because my guide told me to be back in the park by 5PM. I wanted to enjoy the serenity a real mountain brings but I didn't find it there on a national day holiday. Be warned already! Stay longer and go there off-peak so you can have the mountain to yourself.See more..

Although it is not an ancient temple, it was built as a collection of all of the various temples in the region.
