Great city, clean, interesting, home of Tsingdao beer
I taught at Qingdao University for one semester. This is a fabulous city. It is in the north, so the favorite food is not rice, but noodles and dumplings. This is the city where Tsingdao beer is made. It is refreshing and delicious! The public transportation system is excellent, there aren't as many bicycles as there are in other cities because this is a hilly city. There is lots to do, fabulous restaurants, great markets, wonderful people. Put this on your bucket list of places to go in China.

Save your appetitte to eat here!
There are many choices for food and my wife and I had wished that we hadn't eaten right before arriving to tour the beer museum. Next time we are planning a longer visit to the area, and definitely making sure we bring our appetites!

Better in the evening after the heat of the day.
I have been to the beer festival several times. During the day it is often very hot and humid in Qingdao, so the best time to go is in the evening. In addition to a wide variety of beers there are other attractions, such as rides and food.
