On an area of about 5 hectare, this zoo focuses on a livestock of European and Central Asian animals. The zoo offers plenty of occasions to interact with the animals, standing out among them the petting enclosure allowing direct contact with different farm animals. A replicated Tibetan village housing domestic animals originating from that region gives insight into the Tibetan culture. the Zoo of Hoyerswerda is indeed very small. Staff are very friendly and helpful. on a fist glance the premises might look a bit on the shabby side. However, the animals in this little Zoo make a very decent impression. They are well fed and cared for. although the installations have come to a certain age, the animals seem to be at ease there. the Zoo visit can be combined with the Castle visit as the Zoo is situated in the Castle's former park. a nice visit if you travel with children.See more..
We visited (from UK) my friend in Czech Republic, who recommended this butterfly house. Cheap entry, reasonable menu. Probably one of very few places that i saw feeding tortoises the right food. Its not massive place but it was enjoyable trip.See more..

Der Park bietet mit seinen hohen Bäumen gerade in den warmen Sommermonaten schöne schattige Plätze, wo man sich gut erholen kann. Ein Teil der Gehege ist begehbar und somit gerade für die Kinder besonders erlebniswert. Interessant auch die vielen Spiel-und Klettermöglichkeiten für die Kleinen. We visited this animal park as two families and 3 children aged 2,5 and 7. This was recommended to us by friends and we loved it. We commuted by S-Bahn as the park is just a short walk to the train station with an adventure playground nearby. The animals are kept in great conditions and children are invited to feed them and groom them! Our kids loved to be actively involved throughout the visit. The Bee hives were amazing too and we found this very educational. The entrance fee was just £3 each and under 5 were free entry which we found really good value for money. Prices in the cafe were also good but you could bring your own Picknick and staff was very friendly and engaging with our children. We can highly recommend this Park as an alternative to the bigger Zoo's at Leipzig or Dresden. See more..

Tiergarten Falkenstein Vogtl – ein schöner, kleiner Tierpark. Desto trotz genug Tiere da. Man kann die Schwarzbären als Hauptattraktion aus dem Aussichtsplattform beobachten. Ein kleiner Kinderspielplatz auch da. Der Streichelzoo mit kleinen und großen Ziegen war unser große Aufhaltung, fast zwei Stunden sind wir geblieben. Der Futter kauft man für 0,5e an der Kasse. Preis/Leistung top. Gleich neben Zoo befindet sich ein großer Kinderspielplatz. Zoo hat kein Parkplatz.See more..
Visited the place with my kids and was lucky directly to join to the presentation of the owner. He was doing a nice job explaining some stuff about reptiles, does and don'ts. During the presentation you cold touch different animals. Afterward you can visit the crocodiles, spiders, snakes etc. There is also some coffee and cake as well as a playground for kids. This is the perfect place to go with kids when the weather is good. There are some deer, donkeys, goats, chicks, ducks and rabbits. It is not big or grand, just small and sweet and nice to get up close to the animals. Easy enough for toddlers, too.See more..

Tierpark Bischofswerda – ist ein echt kleiner Tierpark. Trotzdem sehr schön und auf dieser kleinen Fläche findet man relativ viele Tiere. Die Hautattraktion sind die Braunbären und für die Kinder der Streichelzoo. Das Futter für die Ziege kauft man aus dem Automaten. Der Eintritt ist niedrig und darf nur mit Bargeld bezahlt werden. Die Gastronomie bietet nur Fastfood. Der Parkplatz soll man in der Stadt kostenlos suchen.See more..
