A brief train ride I to this superb cave system and then on foot. I was in awe viewing the magnificent Stalagmites and Stalagtights in many different formations, colours and development. Well worth a visit if in the area.See more..
4.5Cave of El Castillo(714 reviews) - A MUST see. One of top experiences in the WORLD. Caverns & Caves
The Cave of El Castillo contains a very well preserved cave art ensemble and an archaeological deposit with a stratigraphic sequence dating back from the Lower Paleolithic Era (about 150,000 years ago) to the Bronze Age (about 6,000 years ago).See more..
Excellent experience to walk inside the cave and see original paints from 25000 years ago. The guide was Joaquin and he gave us a fantastic review and explanations...at the end also recomend us a very good restaurant nearby. Don't miss the experienceSee more..
4.0Cueva Cullalvera(110 reviews) - Interesting cave tour Caverns & Caves
This cave is very close to the center of Ramales and an easy walk. It is quite cold so a fleece is a good idea. There was a very interesting video at the beginning and our guide was able to speak fairly good English. The only disappointing aspect is that you cannot go far enough into the cave to see the paintings themselves but it is still worth going.See more..
Not the best cave in Northern Spain for prehistoric rock art, but quite spectacular in itself. Tours in Spanish but, as usual, the guides try their best to assist your understanding of what it's all about. Definitely worth a visit.See more..

4.5Cueva de Chufin(30 reviews) - An Incredible Opportunity Wednesday: 10:30 AM - 2:30 PM, 3:30 PM - 7:30 PM Caverns & Caves
It was so incredible to be able to visit a cave like Chufin. It is not for the faint-hearted or the unfit as the visit requires crawling (with knee pads) and a walk through a forest, but it is completely worthwhile if you want to see a fascinating cave set in a beautiful landscape. Our guide was knowledgeable and helpful -- even though he didn't speak a tremendous amount of English and our Spanish needed some help -- we all muddled through really well and enjoyed the trip. I would highly recommend this as a cave that gives you a greater feel for what the Upper Paleolithic might have been like and a cave that preserves much of the uniqueness of the experience of visiting an old and rare site. The drive into the mountains is spectacular. Initially you are taken by mining train into the mine. The tunnel opens up into a huge cave with astonishing stalactites and stalagmites. The water over a million years has seaped through the limestone to create the wonderful structures. Some have formed coral like shapes and some are like draped material. Astonishing. The guide was excellent. There is a cafe with great views.See more..
