Easy to get there, and absolutely worth it. The view and the landscape is gorgeous. It is very close to Santander.See more..
4.5Excursiones Maritimas(87 reviews) - A great boat trip but turn off/down the recorded commentary Thursday: 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Rides & Activities • Boat Tours • Sightseeing Tours • Ships • Scenic Walking Areas
Such a great value trip which far exceeded my expectations. The cliffs and lighthouse were highlights and quite spectacular. The man at the stand was really informative, inviting those with reservations to board first. The only thing I didn´t like was the constant and very loud recorded commentary, especially the reverence shown towards colonial history and constant reference to the Brits as the English.See more..

This small coastal town has an unusually charming center, with a richness of architecture - from the Medieval to Art Nouveau. We enjoyed wandering through the little streets and alleys.See more..
After strolling around lovely Cartes and having one of the best lunches in Spain (Restaurante Corocotta) we felt like a walk with our Bulldog. This trail here goes on for many miles and miles. You can either walk along the River Besaya to the north or to the south. We did a little bit of both. In the north of Cartes the way is a bit elevated while at the southern end it's pretty much along the river on the same level. Both bits have their own charm. We enjoyed the green forests, the empty walking trail and the lovely quiet nature here. Only a handful of people were around on this perfectly sunny day. Quite surprising. Cartes is a really underrated gem. A small village with lovely buildings, fantastic food and a lovely walking trail. What's not to like.See more..
