This well made bridge with what some say, has 28 arches, others quote 32, is certainly a long bridge - for it's time. It is built in the 16th century in this traditional Spanish fishing village. We can't build bridges that sturdy and long lasting now...- Quality mattered.... There are 6 local beaches in the area, we visited the one called Meran, the beaches here are gorgeous, great sand, soft, clean, great to walk on and the air was so clean. Loved this area. Enjoy the beach, bridge, and stop in at a local restaurant. From there we traveled to Santillana del Mar where we stayed the night. See more..

We arrived and went straight for the old town on the hill. We were very disappointed! Not much to see! We walked to the end of the harbour wall, which was much better, then had lunch at the port. Views of the town from the hill around it are spectacular. The town is worth a visit, but don’t bother with the old town. See more..
