Such a great value trip which far exceeded my expectations. The cliffs and lighthouse were highlights and quite spectacular. The man at the stand was really informative, inviting those with reservations to board first. The only thing I didn´t like was the constant and very loud recorded commentary, especially the reverence shown towards colonial history and constant reference to the Brits as the English. See more..

Our group of 11 booked a 2 hour horse ride. Some amongst us had never previously ridden a horse and our youngest was 7. First impressions: the horses are in wonderful condition and lovingly treated by the owners. We rode out of the village, through an ancient beech forest and out into glorious meadows that reminded me strongly of the foothills of the alps. The leader (business owner) led our 7 year old's horse by a rope and the rest of us rode independently. The horses were all gentle and very used to their routine. One lovely touch was that was we approached the village on return, we happened upon two horses grazing freely in an open meadow. The owner explained that one had hurt a leg and was taking time to recuperate. And the other was their original horse from when they founded the business 27 years previously. He has now retired and lives out his days nearby. But as we passed them, both horse pricked up their ears and seemed delighted to see their friends! Our only query is that charging €35 per person for two hours, we felt the owner was slightly undercharging for the quality of what he provides. We will go back in the future and had multiple requests from the kids to return a final time before leaving the area. In fact, every evening from our accommodation on the other side of the valley, we could see the field where the horses were put out to pasture at night. And on our final evening, we walked to the field at dusk with a handful of left over carrots to say goodbye to our new found friends. If you get a chance, do not hesitate to go, EVEN if you have never ridden a horse before! See more..
