-A Gaudi gem in Comillas
Wednesday: 10:30 AM - 7:30 PM Spent 1-2 hours Architectural Buildings
The Caprice is a palace designed by the amazing architect Antoni Gaudí i Cornet and is considered to be one of the jewels of European Modernism. While exploring the interior, exterior and the gardens, you will discover a work of great colour, inspired in nature and full of symbolism. See more..

-Magnificent Neo-Gothic Palace
Architectural Buildings
This marvellous Neo-Gothic palace was once the summer home of the Marqués de Comillas. Designed by Modernista architect Joan Martorell, it also has an ornate wood-carved fireplace designed by Antoni Gaudí. The exterior is decorated with magnificent Gothic balconies with intricate traceries over Modernisme columns. The interior can only be seen on 30-minute guided tours (in Spanish), you’ll see the grand central hall with sweeping carved-stone staircases, a reception/billiard room, beautiful stained-glass windows and vibrant murals detailing a egotistical journey through the marquis’ life. -An interesting graveyard to explore
Spent 1-2 hours Architectural Buildings
I love an old churchyard and whilst walking along the coast , we spotted the spectacular white angel statue and I had to visit. Its so interesting to walk around and read all the family gravestones and look at the beautiful statues. Doesn't take long to walk around but really interesting See more..

-Outside is great: do a tour to get inside
Spent More than 3 hours Architectural Buildings
Stunning building from the outside which can be seen from miles around. The only way to get in is to go on a tour (check times before) and again the only tour available was in Spanish - but we took it just to get in. Quite impressive inside and that's just the tiny bit you see. Seemed to us that they were missing a trick here by not offering more guided tours and some in English! See more..
- 4.5 Ermita de la Virgen del Mar (215 reviews)
-Impressive!
Architectural Buildings • Religious Sites
The hermitage, which only opens for mass and for the annual celebrations, is a very simple building that was constructed in the 17th century to house the statue of Nuestra Señora del Mar (Our Lady of the Sea), Santander's much-loved patron saint. See more..

-Beautiful Architecture
Spent 1-2 hours Historic Sites • Architectural Buildings • Castles
The Chapel-Pantheon is located in the gardens of Sobrellano, and the style is Neo-Gothic. This was the work of the architect Joan Martorell. The work was finished in 1881. The material used was stone. The main façade has a tall tower. The interior has beautiful stained glass windows and the first furniture designed by Gaudi. There are pantheons of writers like Joseph Llimona and the Vallmitjana Brothers. This structure is like a small cathedral. See more..

-Visita obligada en Noja
Spent < 1 hour Architectural Buildings
See more..

-Go during the hours it's open to see it
Architectural Buildings
I would love to have seen the inside. The outside gives the impression that someone would be using it as a haunted house. They are restoring it, as I understand. I had the bad luck to visit after it had been closed for the day. See more..
-Interesting exterior
Spent 1-2 hours Architectural Buildings • Churches & Cathedrals
The church is situated at the top end of the old town, from where you can take one of the paths up to and along the cliffs. It was closed when I visited but the surround is quite interesting, with the fortified wall and Civil War monument (which I think has been vandalised as it appears a large plaque is missing?). The cemetery entrance is also behind the church. A nice setting right in amongst some of the old town houses and worth a stop to look as you head up to the cliff path. See more..

-Lighthouse plus La Roca Blanca
Wednesday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Spent < 1 hour Points of Interest & Landmarks • Architectural Buildings
Lighthouses are always interesting and this one is really beautiful. However, I couldn’t understand, why the ground around was covered with trash:(. But the views are breathtaking. The picturesque cliff La Roca Blanca lies directly near the lighthouse and I do recommend visiting it. Indescribable colours (see photos)… Just put the most convenient shoes on and try not to disturb different species living there:). See more..

-Casonas típicas de otros tiempos.
Spent 1-2 hours Architectural Buildings
See more..

-Majestuoso, bonito.
Architectural Buildings
-ART NOUVEAU AT ITS BEST
Points of Interest & Landmarks • Architectural Buildings
This beautiful example of art nouveau was built in 1901, following the design by architect Severino Achucarro, from Bilbao. It is now a residential building in the four floors, and used by a bank entity in the ground floor, where plenty materials, including wood, iron, have been used. Its monumental façade is asymmetrical, oriented towards the sea, in which the angled finish stands out with a battery of viewpoints topped by a double spire. The same inspiration presents the windows, among which the two circular ones of the first floor stand out, and the decorations, with vegetative motives. When built, it was practically facing a narrow street leading to the open sea. Both the park and the quay which close down the bay were later creations. See more..
- 3.0 Antiguo Hospital Militar de Santona (3 reviews)
-Palacio de Chiloeches.
Spent < 1 hour Architectural Buildings

-A scattering of interesting buildings and a lovely riverside walk
Historic Sites • Architectural Buildings
This little town, possibly best to be called a large village, has some interesting buildings, but somewhat scattered. There is not one central square, called elsewhere the Plaza Mayor, with both the administrative building, the main parish church, the houses of noblemen and merchants of times past. Instead you have to search to find them all. But it's all good for your health as you stroll around!

Spent < 1 hour Architectural Buildings
See more..

See more..

See more..

-Puente de los Ingleses.
Architectural Buildings
See more..

Architectural Buildings
See more..

-Iglesia de San Agustín.
Architectural Buildings • Churches & Cathedrals
See more..
