We were driving through this area and we really like these kinds of sites and even more so when they are UNESCO designated. As with other reviews a guide would have been nice. But it was still a really nice walk through a beautiful forest and these burial sites are very interesting. Would not make a special trip to go there but if you are driving the Finland coast road it is well worth a 2 hour stop and walk through the forest to see them.See more..
4.5Rosenlew Museum(22 reviews) - Takes you down the memory lane Spent 1-2 hours History Museums
A fascinating place for a Finn. Exhibits familiar household items made by the Rosenlew factory, from kitchen utensils to irons (for ironing clothes); for the latter there was an impressive collection of tens of items, and it was fun to note that "hey, we used to have that at home fifty years ago." Also runs a collectin of TV and movie commercials from the sixties, nostalgic. And also shows the many ways that the factory was involved in the activities of Pori, especially sports.See more..

Beautiful island about 9 clicks from Rauma. A 50 minute water bad ride gets you there. We stayed overnight. Our child was a bit ill and the staff were very accommodating. The food was fair to middling, but the location and views make this a value for money situation. The rooms are kind of what you'd expect, to me a bit like my perception of what army barracks would be like. Rooms were clean though. Toilets shared, one on every other floor. Showers were a similar sort of arrangement. There were also sauna available. Overall a great experience reallySee more..

The previous owners were mainly sailors and craftsmen. The oldest parts of the house date back to the 18th century. The interiors display living at different times. On our visit, there was an eager guide to tell interesting stories about the place. This museum is open only in summer.See more..
The Renovation Centre Toivo and Korsman House are situated in the V quarter near the centre of Pori. The Toivo house serves as the historical building restoration centre of Satakunta Museum. Korsman House has been renovated and furnished in the spirit of a typical Pori family home in 1951. The time I visited they had a special program three people talking about living in the old wooden buildings. The yard area encompasses four timber houses and an outbuilding with spaces for exhibitions, teaching and workshops. I was listening these speeches and visiting Korsman House. It was interesting to see how people has lived during the 1950’s. This is the place to visit also if you live in the old wooden house. The staff is giving hints and information and they are selling materials for restoration.See more..

4.0Reposaari Church(3 reviews) - Beautiful interior in a modest wooden church Churches & Cathedrals
This hexagonal Norwegian style fjeld church is beautiful, especially the four frescos on the ceiling are skilful with most deviant style. Also beautiful luminaire, church organ (from year 1940) and altar textiles as well as the altarpiece. The church was finished 1876, renovated in 1902 and changed considerably 1928 when professor Lennart Segerstråle painted the frescos (God´s covenant with Noah, Jesus calms the storm, Jesus saves the drowning Peter and The sea gives up its dead). There is also an octagonal bell tower and cemetery close to the church. In front of the church is the memorial "Storm" by sculptor Wäino Aaltonen. This church is a popular wedding church and Finnish president Niinistö has been wed in this lovely small church.See more..
4.5Pori Outdoor Pool(3 reviews) - Well worth a visit on a sunny day Sports Complexes
Great and cheap outdoor pool. There's a shallow pool for toddlers, another one for small children and then of course the big pool for adults and children who can swim. In the big pool there are jumping towers at height of 1 m, 3 m, 5 m, 7 m an 10 meters, but the two latter are only open on saturdays at certain hours, so if you're hoping to jump high, check these out. There' also a nice water slide which ends in a shallow pool, suitable for children from 6 years up, or even smaller kids if you ride with them. One thing I really love about this place is the original 1950's architecture and the saunas, and also that they keep the place clean and nice from one year to the other.See more..

This nature observation trail is 8 kilometres long in one direction. There are several bird watching towers on the route. The route is very easy to walk, because the path is flat and duckboards are quite good. However, they may be slippery, if the weather is rainy. I started hiking from Munakarin Säikkä on Yyteri Beach. I really recommend this route.See more..
