The museum itself is quite cozy and allows warm interaction with the art. The current exhibition about the destinies of the Carelian people running from their homes in WW2 is really beautuful and touching. See more..

Not a well-known museum, and also a fairly unkonwn sculptor for a layman. Was very active, the museum exhibits tens of his sculptures and reliefs. The museum has several parts, and for me the most interesting was the massive collection of folklore: tens of items from almost every brand of life in days gone by, from rowing boats to household items. All very well put on display. Every hour there was also a guided tour to the artist's premises in one of the musum buildings. Enlightening and recommended. There is also a changing exhibit, this summer it was modern Japanese visual art. This is what attracted us to the museum in the first place, so the regular exhibits were an unexpected delight. This museum should make more noise about itself! See more..
