Great place for picnic with children
We only visited the playgrounds/childrens parks, but they alone are huge and really nice. There's a lot of other things to see on the island and we will definetely come back. And all this free of charge. There are some cafeterias around, but this is also a great place for a picnic day.

The summer oasis of Pori
There is something for everybody in Kirjurinluoto and everything is free. You don't have to pay any admission fees. Children enjoy large playgrounds, the traffic park and animals: goats, sheep, alpacas, hens, cocks, peacocks etc. Adults love beautiful walking paths and Hanhipuisto Park, which is a garden park. You see many different trees, shrubs and flowering plants there. You also find a nice swimming beach, a disc golf park, a mini golf track and a campfire site (barbeque area) in Kirjurinluoto. If the weather is good, Taavin Pub kiosk may be open. You can buy refreshments, coffee, snacks and ice-cream from there. They have a very nice summer terrace, too. The Polsanluoto Islet (read separate TripAdvisor reviews) is situated next to Kirjurinluoto. Remember to visit there, too.
