   We came for just the tasting and cooking demonstration with Karlic Tartufi. Our travel agent had booked us for a truffle hunt with another guide, and he was amazing, but I'm sure Karlic Tartufi has a fantastic truffle hunt as well. I am sure of this, because Ivana Karlic did our cooking demo, and she was friendly, informative and very witty! It was a joy to hear her family's story and taste their delicious truffle-infused products in their beautiful new restaurant, which has a gorgeous cooking area and plenty of seating. They have a villa for rent next door, and staying there would be a fantastic way to spend time in beautiful Istria. See more..

   The company ''Aura proizvodi'' is dedicated to the production of exclusive traditional products such as brandies and jams and other autochthonous products made of wild herbs and wild fruits picked in a clean environment at the slopes of the mountain Ćićarija, far away from roads and inhabited places. From the initial production for our own needs, we have developed into a family-owned company that primarily focuses on the quality of its products. The products need to be of the same quality as the homemade products our grandmothers produced - without preservatives and artificial ingredients. We produce and offer many interesting delicacies: jams made of nettles, mint, dandelions, sage, elderflower, figs, plums and cornel. We also produce brandies ageing up to three years - they macerate for six months, and are then distilled. After that, the distillate is returned to the macerate, which is decanted up to six times in the following two and a half years in order to naturally loose lees, thus creating a final product ready for the market. In addition to the traditional Biska, Medica and Teranino we produce brandies made of sage, mint, cornel, carob, olives and almonds, wild pears, wild apples, rose petals, rosehip, forest fruits and herb brandy. We saw many beautiful places around Cape Kamenjak and several uninhabited islands in the Medulin Riviera: beautiful water caves, fish, dinosaur footprints, rare plants ... .     It was a great Experience. We rented the Sessa Key Largo. Actually for Tuesday, but since there was a lot of wind predicted, we could simply postpone this via WhatsApp to Friday. The boat was very new and clean. The 100hp engine for the Sessa Key Largo was completely enough and the fuel usage was reasonable.     We recently visited Istria and were lucky enough to have gotten a truffle tour with Nikola Tarandek and it was one of the highlights of our 5 day visit. Nikola is very funny, and entertained us while teaching us. His dogs are so sweet, and so well-trained. Nikola makes it clear that he can't guarantee that we will find truffles, but his dogs are so good they managed to find two white truffles in the hour we spent on tour, even thought the dry conditions made it a tough truffle season.     This all day excursion from a pier in Rabac, was a great value day out. The entertaining captain and courteous crew gave instructions in Croatian, German and English. His homemade schnapps was like jet fuel (fig based apparently), there were plenty of other drinks to buy, alcoholic and non-alcoholic. The boat was clean and well presented. We saw lots of dolphins during the day, the cave was small but interesting, the afternoon beach was very pretty. The food choice was basic, but fine.     We book two tour „Dolphin Sunset“ and „Family tour with Lim Fjord / Swimming“ with Igor and his boat. It was so nice to meet a person like Igor. The Dolphin tour was amazing and for our sons (4 and 6) and us. He took us to the best places to find the dolphin groups. Sometimes it was very hard and the dolphins are very shy because of the other boats.     We went on truffle hunting experience during our team building and it was amazing! Prodan tartufi is family owned and family run truffle business in Istria and they exceeded our expectations in every way! We got to know more about truffles in general, differences between white and black ones, peculiarities about dog training and after short but sweet presentation and truffle liquer we went to their beautifull lush woods on our own little truffle hunting with an experienced “hunter” and his dog. Afterwards we enjoyed delicious truffle lunch and had an opportunity to learn and see how truffle scrambled eggs were preapred. After lunch we had an option to buy their products (I recommend white truffle spread and truffle honey to put on top of vanilla ice cream - thank me later). Toolkits, locks, spare innertubes and brakepads were all available. We completed approximately 200 kms without encountering any problems at all. Our familie of six, containing of both children and adults, most of us without any experience in doing any yoga whatsoever, shared this time wonderfull time together on the padle boards. The instructor Tihana is so lovely and really pleasent, and she allowed the lesson to include us all.     Last year we visited for the first time Medulin, and one evening after dinner we found this little gem in front of the restaurant we visited. Needless to say that in 10 days we've been there basically every evening,trying a multitude of craft beers from the tap.     We had an amazing dolphin tour with Istra Speed Boat. Our boat driver was incredible. We were traveling with small children (2-8 years) and she was very careful to give us a smooth ride. When we were at the dolphins she managed to drive the boat close to where the dolphins came to the surface. She cared a lot about the dolphins.     Very nice sea kayak tour (4 hours). Milan (the owner, tour guide) is a great guy, giving all the necessary information and support needed. Individual questions could be asked and were answered. Also if you’re usually not into water sports and having less knowledge, the tour around the Rabac bay and the neighbouring beaches and shores is easy to handle. She’s very responsive and connected us with the best truffle estate in the Istrian Region.     We heard about that winery and by chance when we went to see it in that area. We found the property with GPS and we just said "wow"... there were a lot of cars and a large parking lot behind the winery. The view is enchanting looking west (Poreč and Novigrad) and the surrounding hills full of vineyards. A wonderful terrace with people enjoying these pleasures. We drank their "Teran" and a cocktail and bought a couple of bottles and talked a little with the owner.     First time trying to kitesurf and I couldn't have chosen a better place do to so. The environment was great and friendly. Petar (my instructor) had all the patient and energy in the world. He made it really fun to just keep trying no matter what. The equipment was in perfect conditions and all in all the staff was great. Really can't wait to try it again. I would definitely recommend this Camp for people on every stage of their learning process, since I could see how my more skilled friends were also improving and enjoying it. See more..

    Best day ever - Michael picked us up and took us into the countryside with his 3 gorgeous dogs. He was very informative and explained truffle hunting very well. The dogs were well trained and found truffles for us. Afterward Michael took us back to his home where his Mother had prepared the best meal we have had so far in Croatia. Each dish was prepared with Truffles and served with local wines and Lorena’s special grappa.
