4.0Temple Of Augustus(1.254 reviews) - A well preserved Roman Temple that has watching over Pula for 2,000 years. Religious Sites
An imposing Forum that benignly looks down on the locals & travelers as it has done for 2 millennia, yes built between 2 BC & 14 AD. Dedicated to the first Roman Emperor, Augustus, the Temple has a porch fronted by 6 Corinthian columns & stands 14 metres high. I also learnt that Pula was known as POLA back in these Rman times.See more..

We nearly walked past here, but so glad we didn't, we were the only people wandering around, it was very tranquil, it has a mosaic that is fairly complete and the church itself is very impressiveSee more..
After exploring the steep narrow streets that you would just love to get lost in, we made our way up to the church. We didn't climb the bell tower though. Inside was so pretty. It was like walking into a museum. They didn't have a problem with us taking pictures either. There were a few things you could purchase there but we didn't. Outside probably has the best view in the city. It was our first stop in Croatia. I can't wait to visit again See more..

4.0Chiesa del Santo Spirito(1 review) - Probably the most exquisite hidden treasure of Bale Spent < 1 hour Religious Sites • Churches & Cathedrals
Bale/Valle is kind of famous for its large number of small, medieval churches (most of them are scattered outside of the populated area of the town). The small chapel consecrated in the honor of the Holy Spirit is the richest in interior decoration. It was built in the late Gothic period, in the XV. century. The simple, single nave chapel`s interior walls are covered with well preserved, high quality mural paintings, mostly scenes from the life of Jesus Christ. The monument is but a few steps from the town`s bus station, but is very quiet and intimate place. And is open, contrary to many other similar churches all over the Istrian Peninsula.See more..

Not far from today's village of Guran are the remains of a large three-nave basilica with three square apses. The naves are separated by massive masonry blocks. The floor is made of small bricks laid in "”fishbone” pattern. The church features numerous fragments of decorated stone furniture. Based on its features and typology of architecture there are indications that this great church was built in the late 8th century.See more..
