Probably the most exquisite hidden treasure of Bale

Bale/Valle is kind of famous for its large number of small, medieval churches (most of them are scattered outside of the populated area of the town). The small chapel consecrated in the honor of the Holy Spirit is the richest in interior decoration. It was built in the late Gothic period, in the XV. century. The simple, single nave chapel`s interior walls are covered with well preserved, high quality mural paintings, mostly scenes from the life of Jesus Christ. The monument is but a few steps from the town`s bus station, but is very quiet and intimate place. And is open, contrary to many other similar churches all over the Istrian Peninsula.
