Really fun truffle hunt and delicious food!
If you want a wonderful food and cultural experience, go visit Miro and Mirjana! We took their truffle tour with our 3 year old and nearly 6 month old and it was our favorite part of the vacation. Walking into the woods with Miro and his dogs, Bella and Lila, was a fun adventure. Miro is very knowledgable about all things truffle and it is really fun watching the dogs do their work. Its made all that much better with the delicious food Mirjana has prepared upon your return. We feasted on several truffle delicacies and local wine. Then Mirjana prepared fresh scrambled eggs with the truffles we found on our hunt. Our son was delighted to get to help! To tell you how good the eggs were: My husband and I aren't really a fan of eggs. He says he hasn't eaten them since he was forced to in the Army -- and we both had second helpings! Mirjana told us about everything we ate and how it was all sourced. This really added to the appreciation we had for the food. Her attention to detail in making both of our children feel welcome was also wonderful. We really felt like guests at their home rather than tourists. After our tour, they provided some helpful suggestions for spending a little time in Motovun. It is a very charming village and their pride in it shows! The best cultural experience I have had while traveling. We will definitely return!

A must do if you love truffles!
Miro and his wife Mirjana are amazing hosts! this experience is a must if you visit the Motovum area. I highly recommend you do the truffle hunting tour and the food tasting. We booked directly with them, found their information on their website and communicated via WhatsApp and email. They are very responsive so all your questions will be answered. We started with truffle hunting, the dogs are super cute and really good at finding truffles. I must admit that once you get back to enjoy food, this was the highlight for me; we got SO MUCH DELCIOUS FOOD, truffle everything! Mirjana knows a lot about truffles and she prepares food with so much love, you taste the love. they also have a store on site so you can but great truffle products at a discounted price - (only cash).
