Amazing team building experience!
We went on truffle hunting experience during our team building and it was amazing! Prodan tartufi is family owned and family run truffle business in Istria and they exceeded our expectations in every way! We got to know more about truffles in general, differences between white and black ones, peculiarities about dog training and after short but sweet presentation and truffle liquer we went to their beautifull lush woods on our own little truffle hunting with an experienced “hunter” and his dog. Afterwards we enjoyed delicious truffle lunch and had an opportunity to learn and see how truffle scrambled eggs were preapred. After lunch we had an option to buy their products (I recommend white truffle spread and truffle honey to put on top of vanilla ice cream - thank me later). Al in all, Prodan family went an extra mile and it was noticed and felt so once again thank you for everything!

A Little Treasure
From setting up the truffle hunting excursion to the last bite of vanilla ice cream drizzled with white truffle honey, this experience was certainly something to treasure. From a warm welcoming email and quick response, we knew we had something great to look forward to. Arriving at the property in comfortable clothes and good walking shoes, we were greeted by a lovely flower garden and followed a path that leads to what I would call a beautiful tasting terrace with a gorgeous view of the old city of Buzet in the distance. The guide, Mirko, was knowledgeable and answered all of our questions in a thorough and pleasant introduction about truffle hunting. The 2 dogs that guided us on the hunt, Brum and Stiv were friendly and successful in finding us a truffle. It really felt like a treasure hunt as they sniffed around, scratched at the ground and Mirko dug out the truffle with his special shovel. All that followed by a wonderful meal of truffles prepared by Višnja- eggs, salad, pear jam, salami, cheese and ice cream. The eggs were prepared table side so we could soak up all of the tips to make our own truffle base for eggs or pastas. After that meal a visit to the store is a must. Drizzling white truffle honey, mixing black truffle with cream cheese, enjoying truffle salami and pairing truffle pear jam with cheese are all things I can’t wait to to do stateside.
