Marvelous scenery

An approximately 50 kilometre in length by 20 kilometre in width, 19-peak mountain range, also known as Diancang Mountain, with the highest peak being Malong at 4,122 metres. There is cable car service to the top. During our visit, many of the peaks where above the lower level of clouds.

    Great view of Erhai and Dali
    Visit before 8:30 am to avoid paying entrance. If you don't mind walking stairs, climb up for some good exercise, otherwise pay an extra 30 RMB for the cable cart half way up. Reserve a few hours to walk from one end to the other to enjoy views of Erhai and Dali.

    Relaxing hike!
    Took a Didi from our AirBnB near Ancient town which costed 21 CNY to to Gantong cablecar station. Cabled up to Jade Belt road, and had a very enjoyable hike from that point till Zhonghe cablecar station before cabling down. Well paved route. Tranquil. Few hikers/ walkers. Just need to carry 500ml water with you as there are vendors selling water at each cablecar station point. Xima pool upper cablecar was closed due to strong winds. In my opinion, Qilongnv pools were mediocre. Nonetheless, we enjoyed the walk thoroughly and would be happy to do it once more if we ever visit Dali again.
