Once you see this waterfall, you will understand the name. Water cascades in a film over the granite creating a beautiful sheer mist. Right off the road with a platform for viewing. Although if you are adventurous, you can scale down the granite rocks and traverse the creek to get up close and personal. See more..

  3. 4.0 Devil's Gulch (69 reviews)
    - Beautiful winter scene

I went to Devil’s Gulch the Saturday after Christmas. The website didn’t say it was closed in the winter so I was surprised when I arrived and the gate was up. Another hiker was coming back from the park so I assumed it was ok to park on the street in town and walk in. The walk up the road was short. At the beginning of the gulch, there is a sign with the map and information about the area. A box is also there for donations. It would have been nice to have a printed map but you can print them at home before you go. I was the only one in the park and it was beautiful in the winter. The creek was mostly frozen. I walked right under the span where it was said Jesse James jumped across on his horse. I did try to find the waterfall but it must not run in the winter. Definitely have to come back in the summer, it is a gorgeous spot. Winter is a little treacherous with the ice and snow and all those cliffs so caution is needed but it is well-worth seeing with the snow. See more..
  4. 4.5 Spearfish Falls (37 reviews)
    - My Favorite Waterfall in Spearfish Canyon
    Spent < 1 hour Waterfalls
    Spearfish Falls image
Spearfish Canyon has many waterfalls, but my favorite is this 45' fall where two creeks and roads converge in Savoy near Latchstring Restaurant. In fact the restaurant is perched on the same bluff as the fall which gives it such a great view but you can not see the waterfall. In the restaurants SE parking lot you only need to walk about 10 paces to see the creek and the top of the falls. However, this view is nothing special. To see the real falls take the trail on the other side of the restaurant which winds down to cross the creek to a great platform along the creek for viewing the falls. I will say we saw PM after lunch and I think it would look better AM with the sun shining on it. Still it is an impressive drop and a consistent flow. Along the way there are some great places for pictures in the canyon. The trail there and back is less than a mile with only 60 of elevation so really anyone can do. See more..

You can get to this waterfall by trailhead for a 2mile round trip hike or drive to the top of the hill. If you decide on top of the hill, it is a nice walk with various lookout platforms. I recommend going in the morning to beat the summer heat. See more..

  7. 3.0 Devil's Falls (1 review)
    - can take a look if you are nearby

    Devil's Falls image
The Devil's falls is located in the Devil's falls, you can walk the trail to view it, but it's quite far away, so you have to use a camera with zoom to view the falls and take picture of it. the Trail leading to the falls is not very harsh, 5 years old boy can walk it and it's not too long, can finish in 1 hour, there are some photo-taking opportunity besides the falls, the rock formation is also worth to see, and there is bridges can walk through. It's free admission as well. See more..
