4.5Prairie Edge Trading Co. & Galleries(562 reviews) - Great place to shop and see local and native american items for sale and display Saturday: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Art Galleries
To some, we are a Native American art gallery; to others, we are a trading post reminiscent of days gone by. On the corner of 6th Street and Main in downtown Rapid City, Prairie Edge stands two stories high and stretches out for half a block as a brick, wood, and glass storefront that has been restored to its original 19th century glory. Inside, the hardwood floors and polished cabinetry bring to mind the spirit of the Old West, while the distinct smell of sweetgrass and soft sound of a Lakota flute evoke the mystique of the Plains Indian culture.See more..

Art Alley includes a variety of graffiti. Some of it is very interesting, impressive, and beautiful, but some not so much. It's definitely worth a visit. There was some ongoing construction when we visited in late June 2022, so we had to enter from both ends to see it all. Enjoy.See more..

4.5Chautauqua Artisans Market(9 reviews) - Wonderful art and craft shop with great prices! Saturday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Spent < 1 hour Speciality & Gift Shops • Art Galleries
We really enjoyed our shopping experience at Chautauqua and found some lovely jewelry. There was also some amazing paintings, sculptures, and textile art that would make great South Dakota souvenirs. When we were there it looked like they were opening a fiber arts store right next door, we glanced in and saw a lot of yarn and other textile supplies. We had young children with us, and even though there were a lot of shiny things at kid level, the staff was wonderful and treated us and the kids with a friendly smile. That alone was worth shopping there for us! Great place and really great value, there were lots of things ranging from super affordable to more expensive fancy art.See more..
