Went during slow time. You walk down stairs below the street level. This was a basement room that was converted into the bar. It felt just like a dungeon. Dollars panties and bras hangers from ceilings walls covering bar etc. Bartenders were friendly and fast. Really enjoyed the visit and drinks. Came here after day 1 on the water. This place graciously cooks your catch and gives you salad bar and potato for $10. Can't beat the price. And they put a picture of your days catch in their hall of fame in their entryway to boot. Salad was cold, crisp and had great accompaniments including peppers, cheese, macaronu salad and a reallt thick, tasty bleu cheese dressing. The breading on the walleye was very light and not overbearing. And the cold leftover fish we didn't finish was delicious for lunch out in the boat today. While roadtripping across South Dakota, we stopped to find a place to eat in Chamberlain and saw a sign for The Busted Nut Bar and Grill and thought it was hilarious so we checked it out. The bar is right on the river and has an outdoor patio and good view of the water. The bartenders and waitresses were very friendly and funny. The food was pretty good for bar food. I drank my beer listening to the various conversations going on and decided to get a T-shirt because the name was funny and I'm a big guy so Big Dummy's fits once in a while. A guy interjects and starts talking about get this guy one of the new shirts, one of the good ones from the back. We start talking and it turns out he was the owner of the place and very familiar the various biker groups and his opinions of them. Apparently he was not only a former kickboxer he was also a former pro wrestler. It was fun to shoot the shoot about the 90's wrestlers and he knew or wrestled with many of them and he had some pretty cool stories. He throws a once a year big time wrestling match out back called Dummerslam. I don't recall his name but I recall having a few beer, endless great stories and a heckuva a good time. Went here for the states most favorite dish. It's lamb that's deep-fried with garlic and onions. The meat comes from kaylors meat locker where they say has the best meat in the state, it's called chislic. It's was done to perfection. We also purchased the cheeseburger and the ground beef also came from the meat locker. That was one of the best cheese burger i have had. The meat was tender, well seasoned. The bun was fresh baked and the cheeses was creamy and fresh. The fries were cooked to perfection. I will be going back i was very impressed.See more..
