I went in Mar-Apr 2015 and hired a car with a driver for two days to see the Danba villages, including Zhonglu & Jiaju, where I stayed overnight at the Three Sister's Lodging (very good experience) in Danba. In fact, one day is enough if you do not plan to stay overnight in any of the villages. The villages offer many great photo opportunities. Lovely village people but I have to say, the town was not that endearing as the villages. However, the bus ride from Danba to Chengdu was hair-raising along the some very treacherous terrain.See more..

Superb views, interesting exhibits (translation needed) and a great opportunity for cosplay. This 15 storey tower has stood here in some shape or firm since the Tang dynasty. Take the elevator to the top and work down. Dress as an emperor on the 12th floor. The daytime views are amazing and the whole place is illuminated at night to great effect. See more..

This pagoda is in a park called Baita Gongyuan 白塔公园。 The pagoda isn't actually white but kinda pink. The pagoda itself is in nice condition and it's in a big park, where you can play cards, dance with the locals, play some games and ride on some kids merry-go-rounds (or whatever it's called) and that's about it.See more..
