    - Beautiful Autumn Colors
    Gardens
    Japanese Gardens image
The bright color of the autumn leaves was pretty awesome on my walk through the Japanese Garden this afternoon. I still see the traditional Japanese lanterns gifted to Grand Forks by our sister city, Awano, Japan, as a wonderful token of friendship. However, the rest of the landscape is looking pretty sad. The water/coulee was full of bright green algae. The grass that was once so lush in this area has been trampled underfoot and has left many bare spots in the grass where people have walked. This place needs a revival! Some sprucing up! Some TLC! Some care and maintenance. This place used to look pretty amazing during any time of the year, but today, not so much. See more..

    - Enjoy Wine Made from a Variety of Fruits
Spent 1-2 hours Wineries & Vineyards • Gardens
Dakota Sun Gardens & Winery image
This is a great place to enjoy a few hours of country air, beautiful gardens, and wine made from fruit other than grapes. It is an award winning winery!! We called ahead and order a cheese, meat, and cracker platter to enjoy with our tasting. Both the platter and the wine exceeded our expectations. The owners work everyday to make great wines, introduce people to wines made using fruits other than grapes. We tasted 17 different wines and found each one to provide a great taste. We bought a case of several of their wine. They currently have 29 and are planning on adding additional flavor this fall. The gardens, metal sculptures, and various water features are worth the visit. The tasting room is cozy and comfortable. When you need to get away from the the everyday grind...head to Dakota Sun Winery! See more..

This was one of the highlights of our trip. It wasn't on our agenda, and we almost missed it because it isn't marked that clearly. We absolutely loved it here. It took a large chunk of our time because everything is so beautiful and relaxing. I even laid in the hammock and relaxed for a while. It's unique, has tons of beautiful flowers and beautiful structures. See more..
