- 4.5 Humble Administrator's Garden (2.325 reviews)
-The first Chinese garden you have to visit in Suzhou
Wednesday: 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM Parks • Gardens
There are multiple traditional Suzhou-style Chinese gardens in Suzhou, and 9 of these gardens have been inscribed in World Heritage list. The most famous and notable one is the Humble Administrator's Garden. It will take you about two to three hours to finish the walk throughout most of the places of interest. It's mandatory to make a reservation of your arrival time during a busy time like summer. It is recommended to join a tour guide service to further understand the background history and trivia behind this garden and the story of the founder. The complimentary tour guide service lasts for half an hour, guiding you through some of the most crucial buildings in the garden. You can understand more by requesting for a paid tour guide service. There are lots of photo opportunities in the garden, and you get to experience more when the history of these incredible buildings is revealed. The current price is RMB$70 in the off-peak season and RMB$80 in the peak season. See more..

It is a wonderful lake that offers so much history spanning back to the 7th Century. It is grandiose and I highly recommend taking your family on a boat trip. - 4.5 The Lingering Garden (840 reviews)
-The best of Suzhou’s gardens
Wednesday: 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Historic Sites • Points of Interest & Landmarks • Gardens
A Brief Description of the Lingering Garden Located at the outer side of the Chang Gate and built in the 21st year of the reign of Wanli under the Ming Dynasty (AD 1593), the Lingering Garden is reputed to be one of the four most famous gardens of China. In 1961 it was listed from the very first as cultural relics of national importance. Since 1997 it has been inscribed on the World Cultural Heritage List. The Lingering Garden, covering 23,310 sq.m., is divided into the middle, eastern, western and northern parts. The middle part features fascinating landscapes and waterscapes. The eastern part is noted for its architectural beauties and limestone rockeries. The northern part is famed for its beautiful bonsai garden. And the western part boasts the mountain forest scenery and the delights of wilderness. Celebrated for its superb handling of architectural space and spatial relations, the Lingering Garden serves as a fine specimen of ancient Chinese garden and landscape design and reputably tops all the well-known gardens in Suzhou. The Lingering Garden provides English tour guide for free every hour since 2017. You can also choose to pay for a professional English guide with different guiding route or a guiding machine. Hope that during your short stay here, you can not only satisfy your eyes, but also experience the real Chinese culture and have a better understanding of our philosophy. See more..
- 4.5 Lion Forest Garden (766 reviews)
-Incredibly Beautiful!
Wednesday: 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM Gardens
While visiting friends in Shanghai we decided to take a day trip to Suzhou. In a long and sad story of mis-communication, we had much less time there than originally planned. The ONE garden we went to was the Lion Forest Garden, and it was STUNNING. We were four adults and 6 children, ranging from ages 2-9. They loved it tool. The garden is a maze of rock caves and outcroppings, ponds and paths and gardens. We were there in April, the the entire place was ablaze with flowers and colorful foliage. Every corner turned was a photographic opportunity. And unlike quiet, Zen-like gardens, this place was bustling. Our girls ran around, absolutely delighted by it all. The adults just soaked in the beauty, and we all left happy. This ONE garden visit was so enjoyable that when we revisit China in early 2008 we will spend a day or two in Suzhou. The gardens really have to be seen, and the Lion Forest Garden is a great place to start, even with KIDS! See more..

- 4.5 Heyuan Garden (123 reviews)
-The most beautiful spot in Yangzhou-The huge ideal mansion of a sophisticated family
Wednesday: 7:30 AM - 6:00 PM Gardens
The traveler really misses something if he doesn't visit this huge mansion, dream residence for many, creation of a super wealthy and sophisticated family. More "Mansion" than "Garden", Heyuan has a unique style that only in "film noirs" you can find. Architecture and exhibits work perfectly to create nostalgic feelings for a past era. Some of its top "hot spots" include The Theatrical Kiosk in the middle of the artificial lake, the "Full Moon" Pool (the full moon is being reflected on its waters day or night due to a clever design trick), the Young Lady's Rooms (when you stand at the Café -at the time of my visit was not in operation- you might listen to some piano music as if the Young Lady was still there, practicing with her piano, the long and unified balconies and other. Entrance fee is 30RMB for the winter season. To be noted that there are many facilities available (Café, Shops, very clean toilets etc). See more..

- 4.0 Zhanyuan Garden (80 reviews)
-maze of small ponds, intricately carved caves and picturesque buildings littered with exotic plants
Wednesday: 5:00 PM - 11:00 PM Gardens
Delightful classical Chinese garden in the heart of the Fuzi Miao area of Nanjing. Among the gardens of South China, the Zhan Yuan Garden is a little mini with nearly half of it rockery. As you walk through the carefully designed gardens there are 18 different scenes to delight in: long bamboo, green woods, garden hills, ponds and waterfalls, strange stones and so on. Meandering paths lead you to different parts of the garden and you never know what you will see around the next bend. Exquisite scenes and beauty surround you and leave you unaware of the city outside the walls. In fact you feel like you are in a painting - well worth a visit. See more..

-The Most Beautiful Garden
Wednesday: 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM Points of Interest & Landmarks • Gardens
Visited a lot of gardens in Suzhou, all of them are different. This is in my eye the most beautiful, in fact this is my second time to Tongli, mostly for visiting this particular garden again. It's smaller compared to most gardens, compact but yet not cramped in design & layout, very clever design. Every angle or direction you look, there is a different view. Also, it's less crowded than the gardens that are in Suzhou city. Tips: 1. Go very early before the tour buses/ crowd arrive, I was always the first tourist there during my few nights stay in Tongli. 2. Take a rest when it's crowded, there are benches upstairs in the garden, best part, its with view to the pond! The crowd will be gone very soon as most tourists only spend a maximum of 30 minutes in a garden. 3. Worth to stay in Tongli for a night or 2 if like quite town, if you have time. Fun: Not sure how many found a hidden stairway camouflaged as a little stone hill. See more..
- 4.0 Wang's Little Garden (14 reviews)
-sad history
Wednesday: 8:00 AM - 5:30 PM Gardens
Home of a former salt merchant it is sad how this home has been ransacked of the valuables and left an empty shell. .. if you compare it to the other GeYuan and HeYuan, of course, how much of the stuff now displayed in those gardens/homes were from here I wonder. See more..

-就像是民国剧
Closed now - 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM Gardens
See more..
