It's a famous mountain in Nanjing and about 30km from the city center, you can take bus there from Nanjing Railway Station. There is a very famous temple-Qi Xia Temple beneath the hill, it's more than 1500 years old now, and regarded to be one of the top 4 temple in China. My first experience was in 2013 when an Engineer wanted to go explore during the 100+ temperatures. We walked to the park from the hotel (Crown Plaza) then all the way to the top and back down again. Despite being uncomfortably hot and humid, we were energized by the thought of those efforts taken to build and later re-build the city wall. There are several historical sites along the way and thankfully, there were refreshment vendors along the route which allowed us to keep hydrated. In 2014 I repeated the route when I had other Engineers come to support our project. It was a shame that some wanted to hide in the hotel instead. Oh well, it was and is their loss. From agricultural point of view, this park has the same concept of the Thousands Raised Field Scenic Park. However, instead of growing the oil flowers, the locals planted metasequoia some 30 years ago. Nowadays, it becomes a paradise for egrets. Wild flowers blossom in spring as well. They have plenty of great tracks for trekking and bird watching. It is also less crowded and more peaceful. The air is very fresh here. The best way to get there is driving your own car with Chinese friends. Highly recommended over the Thousands Raised Field Scenic Park.See more..
