One of the best places to visit when in Wuxi. There are numerous attractions within the park that include various temples dedicated to Buddha. The main attraction is ofcourse the 88m high bronze Buddha located at one end of the park. It's an incredibly scenic environment that showcase some amazing architecture. Although this Pagoda is a simple construction, it is a useful landmark especially for foreigners and tourists since it marks the western border of old Yangzhou. The most attractions of the center of Yangzhou as well as many of today's shops are located in the area between this building in the West and Grand Canal/ Dongguan Street in the East.See more..
4.5Lao-Tse Statue(5 reviews) - Lovely statue of Lao Tze at Maoshan Mountains Thursday: 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM Monuments & Statues
We visited the statue which is located within the Maoshan mountain area. Shuttle vans bring visitors from the main entrance to this location and there is good photo opportunity of the statue and a slight claim up. Lao Tze is the philosopher who wrote the book on Tao and these mountains which are the holy mountains of Taoism have a 2500 history. There are temples for prayers and making wishes around the area, most famous of which is the temple at the top of the mountain called Juxiao Wanfu Gong temple. Nice views at this temple including an aerial view of the mountains and of the Lao Tzu statue from afar. See more..
