3.5Poring Hot Springs(1.406 reviews) - Worth the Dip Hot Springs & Geysers
Takes about 2.5-3 hours drive from KK city depending on traffic as the road is single lane to and fro with many heavy trucks going this route and slowed the journey. Would need to spend 3-4 hours here tracking within the park and enjoy the multiple hotspring. Water is clean and not too crowded in the afternoon. It closes by about 3pm. Would recommend to put a night in Kundasan to fully enjoy the trip around the area. See rafflesia, Kinabalu park, dairy farm which a single day trip along the route would be too short to leisurely enjoy.See more..
3.5Lok Kawi Wildlife Park(743 reviews) - On the way back.......hopefully! Wednesday: 9:30 AM - 5:30 PM Spent 2-3 hours Zoos
Spent a morning here, return taxi fare 150 MYR. It was a bit disappointing, but there were some amazing (to me) animals. The majority of the enclosures appeared satisfactory to my amateur eye. My understanding is that the majority of the animals and birds have been 'rescued' but having too much contact with humans, would not survive in the wild. If this is true, surely this is a good thing? I especially enjoyed the elephants and to my mind they have an excellent enclosure. Another highlight for me were the Borneo Gibbons, I spent a long time watching them and listening to them 'sing' Really noisy! The one Tiger appeared to be in excellent condition. The signage could be better. There are a lot of empty and roped off enclosures They really need to reopen the cafeteria......... Entry for a non Malaysian was a mere 20 MYR See more..

Though the lookout area is blocked off for upgrading, I am still take to catch a vantage view from the bench area. Walked to the stairs to a sumptuous breakfast to Gaya St, a short 10min walk away.See more..

3.5Kota Kinabalu Wetland Centre(225 reviews) - Wet trash lands Wednesday: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM Nature & Wildlife Areas
All in all it was an nice experience. We saw a lot of crabs and some birds. We were there around noon, but I think that it would haven been better to be there early in the morning or in the evening to see more birds. The downside was that the structural integrity of the pathway was questionable and that there is trash everywhere (bottles, styrofoam, cups, everything). I don’t know if the thrash is from the visitors but anyhow they should do something about it. It’s really sad to look at.See more..

Be warned - wear leech socks for this walk in the forest. It was our first day in Sabah and we had no idea that we were going to be taken for a walk through the forest therefore we were not wearing boots and leech socks and the guides said nothing. The result was a leech attack. All that aside we had great views of two Rafflesia pricei flowers and lots of buds plus some old flowers. The guides were knowledgeable and helpful - apart from the leech socks!!See more..

Labuan Chimney functioned as an observation deck, from which information about incoming ships could be broadcasted to Victoria Harbour and Labuan town using an optical telegraph system known as semaphore. In terms of location, Labuan is situated at the north portion of the mouth of Brunei Bay wherein maritime traffic from the north of the bay could be effectively monitored. The structure, i.e. Labuan Chimney, is located near Raffles Anchorage which served as a coaling station for steamships between 1847 to 1870s. Monsopiad Heritage Village is a traditional village with historical site in the heartland of the Kadazandusun people and it is the only cultural village in Sabah built to commemorates the life and time of the legendary Kadazan and head-hunter warrior "Monsopiad". The direct descendants of Monsopiad, his 6th and 7th generations have build the village on the very land where Monsopiad lived and roamed some three centuries ago to remember their forefather, and to give you an extraordinary insight into their ancient and rich culture. Take a step back into the past, to the days of head hunting and spirit worshipping, when the Bobohizan (High Priestess of the Kadazandusun), ruled the villages and took care of health and spiritual well-being of their people. More than just a Museum, the concept of the Monsopiad Heritage Village is to document, revive and preserve the cultures and traditions, as well as the beliefs of the Kadazandusun people. Monsopiad Heritage Village is privately owned and managed by his direct descendants. Your visit at Monsopiad Heritage Village contribute directly to the conservation of one Malaysia's rich Cultural heritages and traditions.See more..
The heritage walk take you up to the English tea house and Anges Keith house. The stairs are not that much but the hot weather makes it difficult. There is a sign for Sandakan heritage musuem but the place is close. The highlight of this walk is the English Tea house. Good food and refreshing fresh juice. You can also take a taxi back to the parish of St. Michael and all angels. If you walk back to the city, there are several monuments and temples along the way.See more..

We chanced upon this place and were wondering if it was worth a visit. We were so happy to find this picturesque place for photo taking and a restaurant that served scones with good Sabah tea. The restaurant served other food too, all cooked with Sabah tea. We bought back many packets of different types of tea leaves which were reasonably priced. :) See more..
We visited on a weekday - a previous review says the tubs are empty. Yes, they were, but that is so as not to waste water. The taps (one hot spring water tap, one cold water) are there for you to fill at your leisure. We clambered up to the Canopy Walk - it's a bit of a hike, but well worth the effort! Also visited the serene and informative butterfly garden and information centre. My husband and I sat in the pool at the base of Kipungit Waterfall, while our daughters trekked off to see the bat cave. I was surprised by 'sucker' fish, nibbling at my toes - you know, the ones you pay for in the 'fish massage' places? And I got mine for free! There are also sites for a rafflesia garden (world' largest flower), and an orchid site. I think this place is underrated, and offers so much for someone who has a morning / day to spareSee more..

3.5Billabong Scuba(39 reviews) - Amazing staff, great diving instructor and food Scuba & Snorkelling
The staff here are so caring and really made us feel welcome and looked after. Every staff member was so kind and friendly. Aziz was our instructor for our padi open water course and he was brilliant. He made us feel so relaxed, broke down every skill and explained everything so well. He made the experience of learning to dive feel easy and so enjoyable. On our second night Adam who works in the dive center spotted us walking on the island and showed us to a lovely bar on the other side of the island and walked us all the way back again which was so kind of him. The food was also lovely every day there was a really nice variety, couldn't fault it . Accomidation is beautiful too. See more..

This is a tourist snare - throwing in the word Proboscis in the hopes of drawing more suckers - but very quickly one realises there is slim to no chance of seeing a Proboscis monkey in this area. The Palmtree plantations have come right near the banks and there is limited mangroves for the Proboscis monkeys. There are other monkeys at the base who are lured at the feeding time and then chased away at other times. The reception, food and touches to one's comfort is notable. The bird watching is good - Hornbill, Kingfisher and Red eagles to be seen. The trip to see the giant fruit bats exodus the island to go hunt is memorable. All in all a good trip but they should not try entice with the name Proboscis as that leads to disappointment. If you have to pass an afternoon and evening in Semporna this is a good way to do so.See more..

Patau-Patau is located just minutes away from Labuan town and easily accessible by taxi or rental bicycle. It is built on a huge area and has hundreds of houses occupied by locals and some opening up its door to the public as a home stay option. It takes more than an hour of walking around in order to explore the entire village and appreciate its decades old architecture, local lifestyle & culture. Some of the locals are ever willing to engage on some light conversation, mostly in local dialect. Recommended to bring along an umbrella and some drinking water as it can get quite hot & humid here. You may notice the rubbish under the houses during low tide which is most unfortunate. It is brought in by the tides and gets washed up here when the water receeds.See more..

It is situated about 4 kms off the main road. It costs 3 ringgit per person for the full tour. We just had the short version and got to taste four flavors. We decided to buy a bottle of wild honey which was my husband's favorite. I preferred the Tropical honey flavour, which was made by native bees they imported from Australia. It had a milder taste. They only had bigger plastic squeeze bottles left. We paid 19 ringgit for a small glass jar of wild honey. Prices were cheaper than Australian give honey. The guide told us quite a lot about the native bees.See more..

I don’t really what to comment because batu gong seemed interesting if you read about it in Google or see people playing it in YouTube. However, when my party arrived at the Batu Gong place, we were surprised that 1) The hut which houses the batu gong is inside a private land, and 2) Even though the gate was wide opened, there was nobody inside to ask permission to see/view the batu gong. I wished that there was someone who was there to show us or brief us about its history and unique way of making music. It is somewhat a rare “musical instrument” in this world. See more..
