This market opens for visitors starting from 6 AM until 12 PM every Sunday. You can find local foods, souvenirs, pets, plants, flowers, shirts, coffee, shoes. I visited Gaya Street Sunday Market in Kota Kinabalu city center in the middle of January 2022. Overall the place is clean and not too crowded due to Covid-19 restriction. You can walk for about 700 meters along the market. To enter you must scan body temperature and most already complete 2 dose of vaccine. Will come back for sure.See more..
Wonderful, colourful, wet and tasty. I loved it, also the kids, mostly we met locals enjoying their meal. The price of seafood is still quite high, regarding this is a local market - 18 rm per 100 g for tiger prawns, they are obviously pricey.See more..

Stopped here on way to Mt Kinabalu. Lots of stalls selling handicrafts and souvenirs. Suggest you buy souvenirs from here as if going to Sandakan there are limited options. Can buy snacks, drinks and fresh fruit sold in bags - the pineapple was deliciously sweet. All at reasonable prices. Will need to pay for toilet - 50c. Where the buses/cars park is viewing area of Mt Kinabalu - great views but weather dependent. See more..
4.0Tamu Market of Kota Belud(18 reviews) - An eye opener to the local products Spent 2-3 hours Flea & Street Markets • Farmers Markets
The market was bustling with vendors and buyers. Fresh fruits and vegetables are at very affordable price. You can find many new fruits found only in Sabah, and they are really, really delicious. The vendors will attentively answer my "ridiculous" questions such as "what is this?", how do you cook it? How do you eat it? Etc etc. The best part of it is i managed to find and buy the tarap fruit. To those who have the opportunity to go to any pasar tamu, do look for the "tarap fruit". If you are lucky, you can find them even if it is out of seadonSee more..
