We are so glad that we did not miss this place. It host beautiful orchids indigenous to this place. There was even one which was supposed to be the second smallest orchid species in the world. It would be nice to have a tour guide for the short trip into the garden in order to discover the variety of interesting & unique plants, unless one is very familiar with the botanic species. Give yourself at least about 1 to 2 hours for the entire place.See more..
We chanced upon this place and were wondering if it was worth a visit. We were so happy to find this picturesque place for photo taking and a restaurant that served scones with good Sabah tea. The restaurant served other food too, all cooked with Sabah tea. We bought back many packets of different types of tea leaves which were reasonably priced. :) See more..
We visited on a weekday - a previous review says the tubs are empty. Yes, they were, but that is so as not to waste water. The taps (one hot spring water tap, one cold water) are there for you to fill at your leisure. We clambered up to the Canopy Walk - it's a bit of a hike, but well worth the effort! Also visited the serene and informative butterfly garden and information centre. My husband and I sat in the pool at the base of Kipungit Waterfall, while our daughters trekked off to see the bat cave. I was surprised by 'sucker' fish, nibbling at my toes - you know, the ones you pay for in the 'fish massage' places? And I got mine for free! There are also sites for a rafflesia garden (world' largest flower), and an orchid site. I think this place is underrated, and offers so much for someone who has a morning / day to spareSee more..
Small little garden. If you visit at the right time, there are several rafflesias in the garden. They have fruit trees around there too. My bucket list is done for Rafflesia. How about yours? See more..
There are several Rafflesia reserves near Poring. The Flowers only last for 5 days, so you have to check which one has a flower when you visit. Highway signs will tell you who has the flowers. Your guide should know. The flowers are amazing. See more..
