Spent 1-2 hours Caverns & Caves • Geologic Formations

We visited early August 2022 and was great. Google says permanently closed. This is not true. Greated by a troupe of monkeys and plenty of bats in the caves. The coffins are wonderfully carved in the top cave. Definitely stop here if you are going past in the Sandakan to Lahad Datu (or from a river cruise on Kinabatang) See more..

Now this is special and worth making the trip to climb. You will need to have medium fitness and be able to manage any fear of heights. Guilds provided are very good and provide good assistance in hand and foot placement. Trust their instruction and maintain 3 points of contact, you will be safe. As steep as it gets before harness and rope required so a fair bit of exposure. Amazing view from the river as you approach the pinnacle and breathtaking vista above the jungle from the top.
