Really nice experience! The staff was really helpful and the room was just difficult enough to be able to pass it with two people in the nick of time. The hints were subtle, so you still felt like you succeed even with a few of them. The sensation of passing it was amazing which shows just how good the assignments and problems were. Instructions were in Finnish, Swedish and English. See more..

Villa Kokkonen is a historic building designed by world-famous Finnish architect Alvar Aalto in 1967. The house is situated on top of the hill sloping down towards Lake Tuusula which is one of the most well-known areas in the cultural history of Finland. To have almost 10 000 square meters in the site really gives our visitors a marvelous possibility to study, reflect and/or just purely enjoy Alvar Aalto's architecture from every possible angle, from near and far. During our guided walking tours we allow our visitors to take exterior photos of the house and photos of the garden to serve their private, professional or commercial interests. Alvar Aalto's masterpieces include private houses such as Villa Mairea (Noormarkku), Aalto House (Helsinki) and Villa Kokkonen. Designed originally for music, Villa Kokkonen has been a wonderful architectural and cultural attraction since June 2009. Pianist Elina Viitaila and opera singer Antti A. Pesonen keep on working day and night as Villa Kokkonen's hosts, guides, artists and entrepreneurs. They were chosen as The Cultural Persons of the Year 2014 in the City of Järvenpää. Alvar Aalto's Villa Kokkonen is open for individual visitors and groups by reservation throughout the year. The medieval Church of St. Lawrence is located in the city centre of Lohja. This late-gothic style church was built somewhere between 1470 and 1490 and it is the 3rd largest medieval parish church in Finland. The rustic and naive murals on the walls and valves from early 16th century make the church one of the most valuable medieval buildings in Finland. The murals depicted biblical stories for the illiterate population. Prior to the Protestant Reformation and the introduction of Lutheranism into Finland, the church served as the Roman Catholic Church. The great wooden crucifix hanging from the vault roof is from the 15th century and it is believed that it´s made in the city of Turku, Finland. See more..
  20. 4.5 Jumbo Shopping Center (31 reviews)
    - Good option if you are stuck in Helsinki Airport due to missed connection and/or staying overnight
    Shopping Malls
    Jumbo Shopping Center image
Not a mall you would particularly visit unless you are staying at Helsinki Airport and have a few hours to kill, which was our case as we missed our connecting flight and Finnair put us up for an evening at the Scandic hotel. The mall can be accessed through the 561 bus that leaves from stop 25 at Terminal 2 and takes around 10 minutes. Lots of shops and eating options there and we even saw a movie at Flamingo next door. Getting back to the airport from the same bus was also convenient. The bus rides is around 3 Euros. There is a ticket machine at the airport bus stop that takes credit cards, but not on the bus stop at jumbo, so make sure you have cash for the ride back, or use their bus app and connect it to your credit card beforehand.
