We have visited many times at this museum. There is a permanent exhibition but every time there is something new to see. Alongside the known Finnish design, the exhibition showed this time the work of Nordic designers from the 1940s to the present day. In the basement was a striking exhibition showing works using Schick Toikka fonts.See more..

4.0Fiskars Museum(33 reviews) - The interesting museum with a fascinating cafeteria Spent 1-2 hours Speciality Museums • Historic Sites
A riverside ironworks was founded here in 1649. Nowadays this Fiskars Village in Fiskari (Raasepori) is full of design boutiques, smithies, restaurants etc. You even find some hotels, a lookout tower, an art exhibition and an arboretum trail there. However, people often miss Fiskars museum because it is situated a little off the beaten track (address Peltorivi 13). You shouldn't forget the museum. This tiny museum is very interesting. It is located in three houses. You may see sheep and bunnies in the garden. The museum has a nice cafeteria named Cafe Hammarbacken. Their selection may be very limited but all pastries are homemade, organic and absolutely fresh. The interior of the cafeteria is old (early 20th century), fascinating and very charming. Parking places are often very full in Fiskars Village. However, you may find free parking places next to this museum.See more..

I was taken to the museum by someone who lives nearby and was fascinated by the exhibits and local history (from 500 B.C.E. through to 1950s). They also had an exhibition on Finland’s prohibition. Given that my home country didn’t have prohibition, the concept was unfamiliar! The effort that was put into securing alcohol was noteworthy. It is well worth visiting. The whole museum was exceedingly well-curated, with Finnish, Swedish and English descriptions of all exhibits.See more..

4.0Home of Aleksis Kivi(5 reviews) - Mielenkiintoinen Spent 2-3 hours Speciality Museums • History Museums
Finland's national writer Aleksis Kivi was born in the village of Palojoki in Nurmijärvi province of Uusimaa in Finland, on 10th October 1834. The house where Aleksis Kivi lived was built in 1824 by his father Erik Stenvall, a tailor, right in the centre of the village. At the age of 12, talented Aleksis Kivi was sent to school in Helsinki. However, his childhood home and its surroundings remained dear to him all his life. The landscapes and people of Nurmijärvi had a profound impact on Kivi's writing. The Aleksis Kivi Society bought the house in 1947 and restored it to its original condition. The museum is furnished as a historic 19th century home and some of the objects currently displayed in the museum are originally from the Stenvall house.See more..

Also, there is a magnificent view of Siuntio church valley, Suitia castle, etc.See more..

This is the worlds only student museum, owned and run by students. This is a lively experience on the Finnish technical students 'teekkari' and their culture, traditions and activities. A free visit includes guided tour, and as the guides are technical students themselves the stories are just amazing fun. Guides speak several languages, so English is not a problem. Exhibition starts from late 1800's and runs until today. You see Finnish student caps, boiler suits, decorations, art and a huge golden cow! The stories are the best, as the facts remain the same the stories do change from guide to guide :) The museum is open during academic year, so do check opening hours from FB.See more..
