4.5Natural History Museum(532 reviews) - Good of you are interested in animals and history of evolution Natural History Museums
The museum mostly shows stuffed/ conservated animals. The animals are nicely prepared and the museum tries to show them in their natural habitat and in their natural environment. The visit in total took us about 2h. I believe if you have small children it can take longer. The price is a little high for what the museum shows I would say. Probably I am a little biased, since we have a similar museum where I live and it costs less, yet if even larger. But still, if you like seeing animals and are interested in history of evolution, then it's worth a visit.See more..

4.0Museo Leikki(20 reviews) - The realm of childhood Saturday: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Children's Museums • Playgrounds • History Museums
The idea for a toy and play museum first emerged in 1984, when the children’s charity Children’s Day Foundation launched a toy collection to form the basis for the new toy museum. The Foundation wanted to promote children’s culture by setting up the Linnanmäki amusement park as a place for the whole family to enjoy, bringing different generations together. The Linnanmäki Toy and Play Museum was opened in April 1996. In 2006, the toy museum moved into the WeeGee Exhibition Centre in Tapiola, Espoo, where the museum was run by the Children’s Day Foundation. In 2010, the association of friends of the Hevosenkenkä children’s theatre took the museum under its wings. The museum and theatre now form a unique partnership both in Finland and on a worldwide scale.See more..
4.5Raseborgs Museum(17 reviews) - Fascinating history & prohibition exhibition Saturday: 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM Speciality Museums • History Museums
I was taken to the museum by someone who lives nearby and was fascinated by the exhibits and local history (from 500 B.C.E. through to 1950s). They also had an exhibition on Finland’s prohibition. Given that my home country didn’t have prohibition, the concept was unfamiliar! The effort that was put into securing alcohol was noteworthy. It is well worth visiting. The whole museum was exceedingly well-curated, with Finnish, Swedish and English descriptions of all exhibits.See more..

4.0Home of Aleksis Kivi(5 reviews) - Mielenkiintoinen Spent 2-3 hours Speciality Museums • History Museums
Finland's national writer Aleksis Kivi was born in the village of Palojoki in Nurmijärvi province of Uusimaa in Finland, on 10th October 1834. The house where Aleksis Kivi lived was built in 1824 by his father Erik Stenvall, a tailor, right in the centre of the village. At the age of 12, talented Aleksis Kivi was sent to school in Helsinki. However, his childhood home and its surroundings remained dear to him all his life. The landscapes and people of Nurmijärvi had a profound impact on Kivi's writing. The Aleksis Kivi Society bought the house in 1947 and restored it to its original condition. The museum is furnished as a historic 19th century home and some of the objects currently displayed in the museum are originally from the Stenvall house.See more..
