Interesting home museum

Mannerheim Museum is the home of Carl Gustaf Emil Mannerheim, Marshal of Finland. He is a very well known Finnish statesman and military officer who lived in this house 1924-1951. The museum depicts Marshal Mannerheim's home as it was in the early 1940s, with the rooms furnished in an original way with the exception of three exhibition rooms. The museum is only accessed with a guided one-hour tour. Tours are arranged as visitors arrive. The easiest way to get to the museum is to climb the stairs up from the shore opposite the Statue of Peace.

    Enlightening visit
Very interesting museum opening a new angle to the iconic Finnish military and state leader’s life. During the guided tour you will learn about Mannerheim’s family and personal life in this home museum. Highly recommended!

    Nice old house.
I visited this museum with a group and, wisely, we were split up into two manageable sized groups. This is a more or less normal house museum with almost everything left as it was upon the death of Baron Gustav Mannerheim. I enjoyed the many hunting trophies but that may not be for everyone. I was disappointed photos were not allowed but I did get a couple postcards of the interior while I was there.
