The interesting museum with a fascinating cafeteria

A riverside ironworks was founded here in 1649. Nowadays this Fiskars Village in Fiskari (Raasepori) is full of design boutiques, smithies, restaurants etc. You even find some hotels, a lookout tower, an art exhibition and an arboretum trail there. However, people often miss Fiskars museum because it is situated a little off the beaten track (address Peltorivi 13). You shouldn't forget the museum. This tiny museum is very interesting. It is located in three houses. You may see sheep and bunnies in the garden. The museum has a nice cafeteria named Cafe Hammarbacken. Their selection may be very limited but all pastries are homemade, organic and absolutely fresh. The interior of the cafeteria is old (early 20th century), fascinating and very charming. Parking places are often very full in Fiskars Village. However, you may find free parking places next to this museum.

Missed out because it’s closed Monday and Tuesday
we were gutted to miss out on this museum because it’s not open on Mondays and Tuesdays. We did however get to look at some of the history of the place at the scissor shop instead
