I visited this place on Christmas day around 4:30pm and it was getting crowded. Upon entering the theme park, I was amazed by the colorful illuminated ice buildings & sculptures. I spent 3 hours visiting the entire place. Suggest you do not join a group tour, as I heard a guide giving a local group only 1 hour to explore the place. There are a few eateries such as KFC, but they are really crowded. In addition to the meals & snacks, these places are great to take a break from the freezing weather. Be warned that the ice slides attract long queues. The queues were confusing. I soon realised there were 3 queues, with 3 different slide levels. My estimates is the shortest slide queue is about 30 mins, the medium slide queue is 1 hour while the most popular longest slide queue is 2 to 3 hours. Hence, if you are keen, I suggest you come before 3pm and join the queue for the longest slide. By then, the sky will be dark and the ice buildings will be fully lit up.See more..
4.5Zhongyang Pedestrian Street(1.059 reviews) - Loved seeing the artists at work! Wednesday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Points of Interest & Landmarks
I love that this whole city has been turned into a Winter Wonderland! This street is full of sculptors working on their pieces (meaning by CNY they’ll all be finished!) and the only place I’ve really seen what I expected of the ice festival. The street itself is like every other city across China. Tons of commercial and international brand name shops, fast food chains, and repetitive gift shops selling overpriced souvenirs (in this case, mostly Churin food products and Russian tchotchkes). There are a ton of restaurants and bars along side streets, so that’s what I’d recommend if you’re looking for a meal. See more..
4.5Sun Island (Tai Yang Dao)(773 reviews) - Incredible snow sculptures Wednesday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Spent 2-3 hours Islands
I was a little surprised that this place was a lot more expensive than the famous ice festival entrance fee. Despite being overpriced, it’s worth visiting to see the spectacular snow sculptures. These are true works of art, unlike the ice buildings at the main ice festival. It only took a little over an hour to walk through, but you could stay a lot longer if you want to do the ice slides and skating, etc. See more..
I visited this cathedral in the evening. It was beautiful with the lighting, providing an atmosphere of serenity & romance. As a major attraction, expect the surrounding square to be lively. If your time permits, suggest you visit during the day as well as evening to fully appreciate its beauty.See more..
4.0Sophia Square(540 reviews) - Wonderful Russian Orthodox Church Wednesday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Points of Interest & Landmarks
About a 15 min walk from the hotel, and visited every day during my 3-day visit (closed on Mondays, can only be viewed from the outside). The church has very nice elements and details inside, a QR code is required to visit it. In the city I have visited several other churches, but this is definitely recommended.See more..
4.0Harbin Polarland(338 reviews) - Great little ocean park Spent 2-3 hours Aquariums
Harbin Polarland is the first polar amusement park in the world. It’s one of the four major scenic spots in Harbin International Ice and Snow Festival. It is a national AAAA level scenic spots with unique themed entertainment in China. "Polar Whale Performers" perfectly shows the most famous polar animal stars with seven themed performances at a world level. It has an unique polar beluga subaqueous show and the top two female animal trainers in China. They both create a world-touching legend ——The Heart Of Ocean! The little Antarctic penguin Mumble who was the first born in inland city all over the world is a happy angel. He is also Harbin tourism mascot. The Chinese funniest polar bear brothers Tangji and Hede,Russian walrus Eno and Eva,magic star sea lion Billy and his super star team, will present a fantastic polar performance for you.See more..
4.0Harbin Flood Control Memorial Tower(290 reviews) - Memorial Tower Wednesday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Points of Interest & Landmarks • Architectural Buildings
This memorial tower is quite ordinary in structure and design, but its historical significance draws tourists to this tower. It commemorates the victory of the people during the great flood in 1957. Look out for the horizontal bar, which indicates the flood level at that time. I recommend you plan your itinerary to visit this memorial tower together with the nearby Saint Sophia Cathedral and Zhongyang (Central) Pedestrian Street.See more..
4.0Zhaolin Park(195 reviews) - Ice Sculptures and Ice Slide FREE Wednesday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Parks
First of all this place should have 5 stars. This park offers a lot of ice sculptures from varying artist of various skill levels and an ice slide all FOR FREE. If you want to see cool sculptures like this at other places, most places charge you. Its quick to take a look at all the ice sculptures, some simple to super extravagant, designs FOR FREE. All in all it would take maybe 30 minutes to 1 hour to see the whole park, there are some nice lights inside the sculptures so I would recommend to visit the park after 5pm to see the ice sculptures and slide lit up... Oh and did mention it's FREE.See more..

4.5Volga Manor(151 reviews) - Museums, Churches, slides and ski. Wednesday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Points of Interest & Landmarks
Me and my fiance came here as part of a tour group. And I have to say this place was definitely on top of our list for best places we visited in Harbin during our 1 week stay. It's a bit far from the main area of Harbin so getting a tour group is reccomend to drive you there and back. The price of the theme park was 150¥ Kuai and included a decent Russian lunch meal. The Manor itself is nice and beautiful and offers a very exciting ice slide. And nearby is also a small hill for anyone wanting to learn how to ski. There is a Russian Vodka museum with a cool and very beautiful underground bar. The employees here were all helpful and nice. For the price of 150¥ paid to the tour group it included the bus ride there and back, 3-4 hours to see everything and lunch I highly reccomend this place to visit. We went during non peak times on a Wednesday.See more..
4.5Harbin Snow Fair(141 reviews) - Harbin Snow World Spent 2-3 hours Cultural Events
This is one of them lifetime events, a lot of people have heard about the ice festyival but few hear of the Snow World. The workmanship and scale as well as the imagination of these works of art are breathtaking. Yes it is cold -27 when we were there, but they have areas in the exhibition which are heated to give you respite. Go on the snow slide there too, great funSee more..
4.0Stalin Park(135 reviews) - Park along Songhua River Wednesday: 9:00 AM - 4:30 PM Parks
I came here mainly to visit the Flood Control Memorial Tower. The park was lively in the late afternoon / early evening. There were many visitors strolling down along the frozen Songhua River. Park has some nice statues too. Suggest you also visit the nearby Saint Sophia Cathedral and Zhongyang (Central) Pedestrian Street as part of your itinerary.See more..
4.5Harbin Ice Lantern Show(101 reviews) - Top attraction Wednesday: 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM Cultural Events

4.5Ice Festival Harbin(83 reviews) - Beijing-Harbin Tour Wednesday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Cultural Events
Harbin, the capital of China's frigid Heilongjiang province in the northest, plays host to China's biggest ice sculpture festival every January. The event is rooted in the region's ancient tradition of ice lantern making, and the modern-day incarnation of these lighted vessels are giant, elaborate scupltures made of ice, plastic and colored lights. Many tourists are unprepared for just how cold the region can get in winter, but the temperatures are perfect for allowing these grandiose ice exhibits from local and international artists to survive outdoors. Winter sports such as ice skating and sledding are popular side attractions.See more..
4.0Harbin Amusement Park(77 reviews) - Great views from ferris wheel! Pricey to do all the rides Wednesday: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM Amusement & Theme Parks
Its a little pricey but well worth it when you see the views. Takes about 20-30 minutes to make the trip around the large ferris wheel. If you wanted to do all the rides it was a pretty steep price (although cheap compared to Disneyland). Just going into the park is 5 yuan. See more..
4.5Harbin Forest Botanical Garden(69 reviews) - One of the best outdoor spots in Harbin! Wednesday: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM Parks • Forests
We have always LOVED going to the Botanical garden! We go as often as we can in spring, summer and fall. It's closed in the winter. It is huge and the kids can run and play without worrying about cars! Lots of green grass, a pond, water bridges, a neat looking castle, trails, benches, water sprinklers, 3 seater bikes to rent, and most of all LOTS of Chinese brides getting their pictures taken! On a Saturday in the summer we have counted over 50 brides with various colored dresses! A great place to picture taking for sure. There are also some fun water rides, like little boats to rent and ride. The price is also pretty cheap making it a great choice for the family!See more..
Also known as China Snow Town (中国雪乡), it is about 5 to 6 hours journey from Harbin city. As such, majority of visitors will do a 2D1N trip. Be warned that the accommodation (typically family inns) are rather expensive and yet provide basic amenities. Nevertheless, this snow town attracts lots of local visitors during the winter season. The snow is beautiful, soft and thick. The town is essentially one long street, nestled in a valley surrounded by the thick mountain forest. Along this street are mainly eateries, inns, convenience stores as well as street vendors. What I love most are the traditional houses covered with thick snow. At night, the whole town is lit up by the red lanterns hanging outside their houses and on the streets, making the snow town a great place to wander and unwind.See more..
4.5Temple of Bliss (Jile Si)(68 reviews) - Truly beautiful in the snow! Wednesday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Architectural Buildings • Religious Sites
Maybe it’s just as wonderful during the rest of the year too but I can truly recommend it when snow-covered: it was majestic! Definitely worth trying to explore as much as you can because it goes on a lot further than it originally appears.See more..
4.0Harbin Confucian Temple(64 reviews) - Great, especially considering it's free Wednesday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Religious Sites
The Confucian Temple (文庙) is only a 10-minute walk from the Temple of Bliss (极乐寺), so you can easily do both back-to-back. The Confucian Temple is located on the street that shares its name: 文庙街 (Wen Miao Jie). Unlike the Temple of Bliss, which charges 10元 for admission, the Confucian Temple is completely free. You MUST have your passport, however. I went on a non-holiday, so there was hardly anyone here. If you're in Harbin for the Ice and Snow Festival, it will likely be more crowded (along with every other tourist attraction in the city). Some of the buildings are set up for worship, while others are small museums, detailing the history of the temple. I really enjoyed my time here. Plan on spending 30 minutes to an hour.See more..
4.0Songhua River Bridge(61 reviews) - Oldest railway bridge Wednesday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Bridges
The railway bridge was originally built by Russians in the 1900s. It is the oldest railway bridge on the Songhua River, Harbin and the first cross-river bridge in the city. It is now open to tourists to walk along the track. From the bridge, I had a great view of frozen Songhua River. There were many visitors strolling down along the frozen river. Though the bridge is not spectacular, its historical significance is worth a visit, if you are already nearby.See more..
4.0Lao DaoWai(57 reviews) - I absolutely LOVE HERE!!!!!)))) Points of Interest & Landmarks
VISITED in SEP, OCT, NOV, AND DEC 2016!! The whole street of JING YU portrays the Old Baroque style building that looked like if it was set on fire. On 2nd and 3rd street, you can find pedestrain rd in which a LOT OF MUSLIM RESTAURANTS(dumpling shops) and other tea house are available to visit. One of the Youth HOstels, the baroque hostel is located here to for different travellers world wide! On 8th street, you can find a fried chicken shop how? because you can smell the aroma of the chicken from 4 streets away! then on 12th street, you can see a MOSQUE because Chinese Muslims live around that area! There are two pastry/bakeries here that you can buy delicious freshly made cakes and breads. I was there around Chinese Moon Festival and bought MOON CAKES FOR MY WIFE and KID!))) that was so lovely! Lastly, at the end, 20th street of Jing Yu street, it's JING YU Park! Small but delicate. Dedicated to our Sino-Japanese War Hero=Yang Jing Yu!See more..
4.5Wudalianchi (Five Big Linking Lakes)(56 reviews) - scenic old cone volcano landscape Wednesday: 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM Bodies of Water • Mountains • Lookouts
I saw eight or so volcanoes. There are five lakes joined together with a lava scape. You need to ride a shuttle cart down to the lakes through a combination of lava fields and relatively untouched woodlands. lots of pretty birch trees along the way. If you've been to Hawaii it might not blow you away but if you've never seen lava and you're in China, go for it. It's a major trek to get here though unless you're in Harbin or vicinity.See more..
4.0Jingpo Lake(42 reviews) - Jingbo Lake Wednesday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Bodies of Water

4.5Beijicun Forest Park(31 reviews) - Interesting landmark Wednesday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Parks • Forests
Literally the northernmost village in China. There are good enough attractions in the village for a 1-2 day visit. The Oroqen Museum and a boat ride in Heilongjiang are the highlights. There are also lots of landmarks to take a photo with. Most of the souvenir shops sell Russian dolls, dried fungus and blueberry products (e.g. juice and candies).See more..
4.0Heihe River Island(29 reviews) - Nice river promenade Wednesday: 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM Islands

We went here expecting to go into caves and see the stalactites and stalagmites, but that is not what this attraction means. The Underground Forest refers to the forest at the bottom of a crater formed by a volcano. It was just like any other forest you may see with its undergrowth and tall trees. What we did not expect was the almost vertical stairs going down and the same going back up. It was a long way down and up!! Many of the older people on this trail were not very happy with this climb. And for what? Nothing special. We guess that if you were a city dweller, this may have been special. Otherwise, it was an exercise that didn't lead to a reward at the end. Basically, unless you want a cardiac workout or to commune with nature through vigorous exercise, skip this attraction.See more..
We went to Putuo mountain by coach, approximately four hours from Shanghai plus a brief ferry trip. The scenes are clean, views are splendid with many temples and huge Buddhas to visit. Downside to this was the lack of non-tourist oriented restaurants (meaning high prices for grease spoon food) and very average hotels.See more..
4.5Daguangming Temple(21 reviews) - It's a hike! Wednesday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Religious Sites
I'm sure there's some reason why so many temples are on top of mountains. This is no exception; so, expect to do some hiking. On the day of my hike up the mountain, there were some new temple facilities under construction, but much of the existing complex was accessible. What was most striking for me was the plethora of wildflowers growing in various places, which made the hike more pleasant. Overall, it's a peaceful hike and good for taking pictures.See more..
4.0Suifenhe National Gate Park(21 reviews) - Disappointing to say the least! Wednesday: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM Parks
This is also listed as Guomen Tourist Area and boasts being a senic area. Access from the main road shows an area not well maintained. There's a roundabout with a statue in the middle that is overgrown with weeds and in disrepair. From there you go to the "senic area" which is near the border park (that is closed to laowais, except maybe Russians). The "senic area" is mostly overgrown and there isn't much else to see. There's a large building nearby where you can buy Russian goods like those you can buy in other parts of northeastern China.See more..
The statues is located on a very large walking plaza beside the river. It was a beautiful sight at night. See more..
4.5Longsha Park(18 reviews) - Amazing beautiful park with so much activity Wednesday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Parks

One of my favorites of Qiqihar.See more..
When I first get to Mohe city, I was surprised to see its unique buildings which are quite different from other cities in China. The streets are wide and spaciously lay out. Nature is everywhere in Mohe county and it's easy to join a local tour (small group) to explore the Northern forests and rivers in the area. I highly recommend the place if you are a nature lover. If you cone during the warm season, you can even go further into inner Mongolia to visit the big prairie.See more..
4.0Daqing Times Square(16 reviews) - A Real Peoples Park! Wednesday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Points of Interest & Landmarks
Times Square has two distinct faces - the winter version and the summer one. There's not a lot of activity in the park during winter except for festivals like the Lantern Festival, Chinese New Year and sometimes Spring Festival. However, even though it's freezing cold, the snow blankets the grass and gardens, there are no leaves on the trees and the manmade lake is for ice skating. In summer, the place comes to life and many people find it a very peaceful place to sit and read, sleep and do some sports like tennis and basketball. You can cycle around the park, walk and jog. The gardens are maintained and it's a very safe place to be night or day. On a hot summer day the kids love playing in the fountain. I cycled around the park on more than a dozen occasions and found it relaxing, peaceful and quiet. I lived in Daqing so the date I went there last was in 2015.See more..

4.0Daqing Oil Field Park(12 reviews) - More of Daqing then expected. Iron Man Museum a most. Wednesday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Amusement & Theme Parks
Daqing might be a little outside the normal tourist road but you would not regret if take 2-3 extra days in Daqing when in China. This is a place be to feel the "wings of history". Daqing has an incredible history of China culture revolution. Iron Man Museum and all surroundings is must to visit. Here you feel the history. You can easily book rather cheap flights from Beijing to Daqing. I prefer Sheraton Hotel when in place. Close to one of the big shopping malls. Ask hotel to organize how to get a guided tour for Oil field Park, Iron Man Museum, etc They help you gladly.See more..
