Harbin Forest Botanical Garden, Heilongjiang, China

One of the best outdoor spots in Harbin!

We have always LOVED going to the Botanical garden! We go as often as we can in spring, summer and fall. It's closed in the winter. It is huge and the kids can run and play without worrying about cars! Lots of green grass, a pond, water bridges, a neat looking castle, trails, benches, water sprinklers, 3 seater bikes to rent, and most of all LOTS of Chinese brides getting their pictures taken! On a Saturday in the summer we have counted over 50 brides with various colored dresses! A great place to picture taking for sure. There are also some fun water rides, like little boats to rent and ride. The price is also pretty cheap making it a great choice for the family!

A place to relax and enjoy peaceful moment inside the crowded city
The entrance fee for this garden is 15RMB. It's length is approx. 2kms so there is still lot of space to stay alone if you want so. I went there during a weekend and still it was not crowded. I could walk alone for long distances without seeing almost anyone. Peaceful place where you can just enjoy all the nature and forget the busy life of crowded city. Not maybe your destination for a short visit to Harbin but I stayed there for 3 months so it was like a meadow for a person seeking for silence and peace still not too far away from city and public transport.

A peaceful place to spend a weekend morning in spring/summer!
Well if you visit in spring (that's when the flowers bloom), the views are spectacular. The entire area is spotted with gardens, small lakes/ponds, sculptures. a perfect place for a picnic. Make sure you bring your own food, don't expect many suitable food stalls there.
