It has good surf and you can rent surfboards at the beach. It also has the normal Brazilian beach facilities of umbrella and chair rental. We enjoyed exploring Bombas and Bombinhas Beaches. My only regret was that I forgot to bring sunscreen. The two beaches are connected by a boardwalk. Curiously, the large boats that depart from Barra da Lagoa (longer distance) are cheaper than the small boats that cross from Campeche beach (much shorter distance). Take lots of sunscreen and cover. The fishermen are the descendants of Portuguese emigrants from the Azores. I loved this beach. You hike around 2 hours to reach the beach and then you can climb to the view point which is another 45 minutes. On the beach you can find small bars but no food. Perfect beach for children. The water is calm and warm. There are trees and so you have shade. The beach and water is clean because of the many litter bins. To visit that area, you need to make a special trip for it. This is a day trip. You have a small village sleepy of sea on, too crowded at summer time lying down the lagoa. This is the single access to the beaches. Except if you are a good swimmer and you do not carry with you anything that needs to be waterproof, the only access to the beaches is by hiring on the spot small boats to cross the laguna waters.
