  1. 4.5 Nossa Senhora da Penha Convent (5.133 reviews)
    - Absolutly Breathtaking
    Monday: 5:15 AM - 4:45 PM Spent < 1 hour Missions • Churches & Cathedrals
Nossa Senhora da Penha Convent image
Want to take a picture from the best view of Vitoria, this is the place! I loved coming here every Sunday morning to get my morning exercise up the steps to the convent, it's the best way to get that beach body back. At the top of the convent I attended the mass there and it was crowded, but at least I got to enjoy the view while listening to the homily. For the non-spiritual, this place for taking pictures of both the city of Vitoria and Villa Velha, the best views are here, and as I've said this is the best place to get a good cardio workout. They also have a mini museum for you to check out to see the history of the convent. For those who need accessibility assistance, they do offer a transport which is about $3,50 R. The convent is about a 5 minute drive from the city and 15 minutes from the airport. Definitely a must visit place if you visit the city. See more..

    - Beautiful area and park
    Spent 1-2 hours State Parks
Parque Estadual de Pedra Azul image
Just driving to this area is worth it. We took the 2.5 hour route leaving BR-101 from Fundão, then Santa Teresa, Santa Maria de Jetibá, Garrafão, before reaching Aracê. Beautiful route. To top it off, the even more beautiful Pedra Azul. We drove to the entrance of the park. Quite touristy and busy. Most people stay here for some photos and a visit to the restaurant and shop. Luckily so. Although right of the restaurant it stated that all trails were closed for the day since maximum of 150 persons was sold out, you can still walk about 1.5km up the mountain to the Park Rangers post. Only there the trails actually start that were limited access with permit. That first walk is highly recommended and easy to do for all, although flat shoes with profile is recommended. There is also a small beautiful cherry tree park just below the post that you can visit. See more..

    - Best time to go is early in the morning to watch the sunrise!
    Lookouts
    Morro do Moreno image
Access to the Morro do Moreno is easy to get to with an Uber. Hiking up the mountain is steep and you will break out a sweat, but it’s TOTALLY worth the adventure! It took me about 40 minutes to climb. I hiked up at 4:30 in the morning to watch the sunrise. What a spectacular view! There’s a little shop at the top that serves refreshments and snacks. Coming back down is a bit hard on the knees and could be slippery. Wear good sneakers or hiking boots. Bring a bottle of water and a banana… See more..

  12. 4.5 Bacutia Beach (867 reviews)
    - Must go if traveling in Espirito Santo
    Beaches
    Bacutia Beach image
This beach is incredible. It's a must go because it is well attended, pretty people and nice apartments. The water is super calm and clean (especially during summer like anywhere else in Brazil). It's good for kids too but, usually, young people stay there. You can even go up the stones there and take awesome pictures. I recommend taking you cooler with beer, coconut water, and some snacks since the only thing you will find to buy is through street vendor's cart and they are usually more expensive. In Oct/2016 I paid R$5 for the coconut but it is not high season, so almost double it during summer. If you are hungry you can go to Peracanga beach, which is the beach nearby and seat on the beach bars (the food is not the best and expensive but it's close) or if you have a car, go look for the famous moqueca restaurants Gaeta and Curuca in Meaipe (around 15 min driving) You can stay for the hole day there. See more..

  23. 4.5 Peracanga Beach (509 reviews)
    - Really good! Beach, bars and nightclub
    Beaches
    Peracanga Beach image
The beach is awesome, calm water, clean water. but it gets busy during summer, holidays and sometimes even weekends. Pretty and young people mostly, but a lot of families too, since the water is calm. Around 2pm the water starts coming closer so we lose space on the sand. I recommend in the morning the most. There are some bars to eat and drink, which serves some food but nothing special. I would still prefer to take my cooler with food and drinks. Sometimes at the nightclub there they have some events, especially on summer, and it is really nice, named Thale Beach Club. Take the day off and visit is! Plus it is close by Bacutia, a few meters away and its even nicer. A lot of spots for pictures. See more..
