    Geo Center Mons Klint image
This area is already beautiful but I cannot recommend this GeoCenter enough. It is a charming boutique and museum with a great cafe with reasonable prices. I highly recommend getting a tour by Niels. Every museum in the world should have a Niels. He was so passionate and engaging and made all of us excited and interested in the geological history of Denmark, chalk and limestone. This center is also great for kids which was a lovely surprise. I would highly recommend making a day, seeing Møns Klint, having lunch, explore the museum, and then buying some local honey or souvenirs to take home. They even have ziplining and snorkeling! I am looking forward to going back for the fall colors. See more..

Danish Museum of Science and Technology image
Once you enter the doors you instantly forget that it is situated in a somewhat boring place and building in Helsingør (45 km north of Copenhagen). The buildings are packed with technical and historical gadgets in all sizes - airplanes, fire engines, bycicles, telephones, cars, motorbikes, helicopters etc. etc. If you are a little boy - or have a little boy inside you - you will love running around for a few hours at least. Bring your own food and have it on the grass outside (close to an old steam engine) - or go to Helsingør for it. The cafeteria is not worth a visit, but the museum is definitely! See more..

House is open from easter to october. The house was built in 1917, while Knud was away on The 2nd Thule Expedition. Rather than being a traditional summer residence for the family, the house came to be a place for Knud to immerse himself in his work away from the bustle and social commitments of the capitol. In 1939 Knud's widow, Dagmar Rasmussen, made over the grounds and the house with all its contents to Torup Parish. Shortly thereafter it was opened to the public and has been so ever since.Helge Bojsen-Moller was the architect, and in drawing up the blueprints for the house he was inspired by the English "cottage style" of the day. Apart from being a renowned architect In Denmark, he had also been at the head of a number of building projects in Greenland. He was an obvious choice for the task. Some years following the building of the main house an annex was added. This became Knud's private study and was later connected to the main house via a long corridor. See more..

Instructive to see accounts of the source of much of the country’s, and Helsingør’s, prosperity over many centuries. Controlling the fees levied on ships passing through Øresund was a mainstay of wealth and they ceased only in the mid-1800s under pressure from other major sea faring and trading countries. In a grand preserved building the exhibits and recreations are absorbing. A ship-chandler on the entrance floor is said to be Denmark’s oldest intact shop interior. See more..
