Great Nature with interesting history

The cliff is a UNESCO World Heritage site and represents a dramatic chapter in the history of the earth. A thin layer of fish clay tells the story of how more than half of all animals and plant life became extinct as an asteroid struck earth 66 million years ago. Take the bike or car to Stevns Klint and explore the unique nature while on a refreshing hike. Walk along the beach and enjoy the sight of the cliff which towers 40 meters above sea level. At the top of cliff, Højerup Old Church hangs almost falling into the sea. From here you have a great view of the cliff and sea. Take the stairs to the top of Stevns Lighthouse and enjoy the panoramic view all the way to Sweden. Explore the underground tunnels deep within the Museum Stevnsfort, which during the Cold War served as a military facility keeping an eye on the Soviet Union. There are guided tours everyday from 1 june to 1 September at the Church. It costs 40 DKK to join.

    Amazing Geological Site
Beautiful and accessible to the public by a set of stairs this place is amazing. It shows the different layers of chalk, fish clay (particular geological layer showing result of Asteroids hitting the earth and extinguishing Dinosaurs) and limestone on top. There is a cobblestone beach that is beautiful to walk on.

    A great nature experience
One of the famous chalk cliffs of Denmark Stevns Klint is also known for its long and interesting history. At the parking lot there is a good little museum about the place, some basic services for visitors and the famous church that hangs above the cliff. You can take stairs down to the beach to look for fossils, and you can have a swim too (the beach is stony though). There are also other attractions in the area linked with the nature and the colourful history of the place.
